CRUISING71 Posted June 11, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2012 Hello, We currently have our reservation on hold. I called the X to ask about the deposit, but I am confused. This is what explained to me, so is it true? If I cancel AFTER final payment, I will lose all my deposit. They will not transfer this deposit to new booking. BUT do I get my money back minus the deposit? Thanks, Tibbie
Rare ghstudio Posted June 11, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2012 That is incorrect information. If you cancel after you have made the final payment, you pay a percentage of the total fare as penalty depending on when you cancel. Once you have made final payment, the deposit is just part of that payment. That information is on Celebrity's web site.

peteukmcr Posted June 11, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 11, 2012 I presume the OP is referring to the US booking conditions. In the UK it is different and if you cancel 57 days or more before sailing you lose all your deposit. 56 days or less and cancellation charges are levied as described below. Deposits: Deposits for UK bookings are £150.00 per person. Cancellation charges The following cancellations charges apply: 5 days or less*** ** 100% 6 - 14 days********** ** 90% 15 - 28 days*********** 75% 29 - 56 days*********** 50% 57 days or more*** Deposit only (£150 per person) Please be advised that the minimum cancellation charge will always be the loss of deposit and that any amendment or transfer fees will also be charged when a booking is cancelled.
