Great Beaches Close to Port in Cozumel, Honduras, or Belize?

My family and I are going on the Carnival Magic to Honduras, Cozumel, and Belize. At one of the ports we would like to find local transportation and find a beach not overrun by tourists. We would rather not go on a cruise-set excursion. Does anyone know of any nice beaches that are close to the Ports?

Cozumel has a few options.

Our routine is to take a cab to paradise beach(think that's it)

No fee. $10 minimum purchase

Extra fee for water sports.

 

Then back to town and walk to the end of the strip and have a margarita and quesadillas at Pancho's backyard.

 

Finally, walk back the ship wanting to go back to Pancho's

While not exactly close on Roatan I would go to the west end of the island. Getting a cab is no big deal, you can get hotel day passes, or you can even use Carnival transport to Tabayana beach.

Hannah, have you tried the ports of call boards yet? I have found a lot of great info on ports there. :)
