3JM Posted June 24, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2012 Anyone ever report a problem with mold on the ships? Need to know about moldy carpeting or issues related to these allergies before I book a cruise. Has anyone heard about them? Thanks for your help. I am worried about booking a cruise on an older ship. 3JM

lakelorain Posted June 24, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2012 My husband and I cruise often and have terrible allergies to mold and other things. No problems on the ships. My daughter has a rare disease that is triggered by mold and she sailed on the Explorer for 9 days with no problems.

cb at sea Posted June 24, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 24, 2012 Maybe it's the salt-air that keeps molds in check!
NorthCarolinaBelle Posted June 24, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 24, 2012 Also have cruised many times with severe allergy to mold, also my husband and kids, with no problems! I will say, and please don't anybody flame me, that you may have a problem with tobacco smoke on Royal if you are allergic or sensitive to that. JMG Posted June 24, 2012 #7 Share Posted June 24, 2012 Same as above! I am also allergic to mold and have not had a problem with mold or other allergies on board the ships!
kruzerci Posted June 24, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 24, 2012 I've never had allergies that I can feel onboard the ships, but we always notice our eyes being red in the morning onboard. Same thing happens at some hotels.
