cruiseonthebrain Posted July 9, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2012 I sail on the Elation Saturday - do I need to bring my own hair dryer? Every cruise we have been on had a hair dryer in the cabin. That being said- they sucked. I always pack my own.
iowagirl411 Posted July 9, 2012 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2012 Fantasy Class (Paradise, Elation, Inspiration, Imagination, Fascination, Sensation, Ecstacy, Fantasy) do not have hair dryers except in the Grand Suites. Even the Jr. Suites do not have hair dryers.
JenniLynn Posted July 9, 2012 #4 Share Posted July 9, 2012 Yes, bring your own! I don't believe your cabin will have one, and the hairdryers on newer ships that do have them are weak and on a pretty short cord. If you have hair longer than a pixie cut they don't do the job! It is worth it to pack your own!
suzinva Posted July 9, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 9, 2012 I can't say as I always pack my own. My experience is with hotel dryers that by the time they dry my hair, it's time to wash it again. My hair is not long but it is thick. If you've successfully used hair dryers in hotels, you'll probably be ok. Otherwise, I'd just take one. Titan_Cruiser Posted July 9, 2012 #6 Share Posted July 9, 2012 Just got off the elation last Thursday. They do not have hair dryers in each room. However we asked the room steward for one and he brought us a regular dryer to use for the week. He said they have several they lone out.

I had this same experience on the Elation in March...if you want a high powered dryer though, I recommend bringing your own.
Sargent_Schultz Posted July 9, 2012 #8 Share Posted July 9, 2012 Fantasy class ships have a limited number available on a first come first served basis. You can try your steward or ask at Guest Services or bring your own.
