Connecting balconies

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had any recent experience with stewards agreeing to open connecting balconies? For a time it seems they would not allow this. But just recently I read a post review that said they got theirs opened. Anyone else asked and had that done? Hoping they will open ours on upcoming Freedom.

From what I've read here, it depends on the current policy aboard the ship. So it might be that one cruise they allow it, and another they don't. All you can do is ask the room steward. I do know that Freedom is one of the ships where it is physically possible to open the divider between balconies.

While not extremely recent, I was on Freedom in Dec 2011 and the steward opened our connecting balconies.

Not all ships have balconies that CAN be opened, so if not, there's no way an attendant can open them! On some ships, the balcony walls are actually part of the ship's hull...on others, the dividers are bolted into place and cannot be opened.

Freedom class can be opened, but aren't always.

Oasis class does have sliders, so you will have a pathway between balconies.
