Tender question

We have booked an independent tour operator in Grand Cayman, and I was wondering how tenders are handled with Princess. We docked or booked with the ship the last time we were on Princess. NCL had you wait in line for tickets, then you had to listen for your ticket number, is it the same on Princess?

Thanks for the info!

Princess will ask that those on ship's tours gather in the main theatre so they can get off the ship first. Everyone else will have to get tickets, and head for the tender embarkation point when called to do so. In Grand Cayman, there are big local tenders that make pretty quick work of the entire process. The speed of tendering also depends on how many ships are in port. Once most of the people have gotten ashore, there will be announcement that anyone else wishing to head to shore can proceed directly to the tenders.

We were on a ship's tour in March. Heavy seas, too many ships tendering and poor port facilities led to a 2 hour delay. Unfortunately, we found out too late that, since the ship docked early, they were tendering non-ship's-tour people as early as 10:30 (we were supposed to tender at 12). We met some folks in our ship's tour that had done that, and at least ended up with plenty of shopping time. Unfortunately, the Grand's schedule is pretty limited in the Western Carib - short stops - something we discovered we definitely didn't like.

On the Caribbean Princess I just got off may 7th you had no tickets. Everyone went to the Princess theater and had a seat in rows. We were on the tender in about 5 minutes. it was constantly moving
