bakerintn Posted August 6, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2012 It would be very rare to cancel a sailing because of weather...it might get delayed a day or you may miss a planned port, but not get cancelled. I think that the cruise contract does not provide for a refund unless the problem is the fault of NCL...weather being excluded from that.
contom Posted August 7, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2012 I was on the Sky several years ago when Hurricane Ike was coming in, almost as we were leaving:eek: NCL told me ahead of time, that there would be no refunds unless they could not sail, (if I could not make it because of weather-I would not be refunded). We somehow managed to sail around the storm. We did miss one port-but all worked out well!
NeuroQueen Posted August 7, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 7, 2012 We are on this cruise also and live in Florida. What was I thinking? I hate to have to watch and worry. Oh well, hopefully we can sail between storms, or better yet, no storms!
davesarn Posted August 8, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 8, 2012 It's really rare that cruises are significantly affected by hurricanes. Unless Miami gets a direct hit, the Sky will simply alter her course and sail around any storms. I really wouldn't worry too much about it.
