Which suite to book on star?

We cannot decide whether to book a SJ Family Suite, large cabin with all window wall, or the Penthouse Suite with Balcony? There are just the two of us. I wonder if the separation curtains in the Family Suite look sloppy and possibly interfere with the views.

We are on a TA cruise and enjoy looking at the sea. any suggestions?

My favorite aft ph on any ship is 9232 on the Star! The wrap around balcony is fantastic. No noise issues, and is very private. My profile picture is that balcony.

We love the SJ suites - WONDERFUL views! We have been in them twice on the Star and would love to go again.

 

Stand on a chair and unhook the curtains in the middle, then pull them back to either side. The second time we were in the suite I was prepared with a ribbon tie to use for the curtains and the staff never once bothered them. (The first time I used a couple towels rolled up tightly.)

I'm on the Star aft wrap around deck 9 in 24 days. I like the idea of less wind and use of the balcony when under way and suite perks (1st time).
