jlm41 Posted August 30, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2012 I would like to book ticket for my family for July-2013 cruise. Is it too early to book? If No, Should I book Fun Saver or Early Saver? I do not like the idea if my plans changed then I need to give up the whole amount. What is the best way to book the ticket to protect against the plan changes? Which rate category best allows to let you change the dates? which category has best refund policy? Thanks for your help.
firefly333 Posted August 30, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2012 You can book fun saver now.. and then when the cruise gets close change to early saver. Only with ES do you get price drops after final payment, but no downgrading, nonrefundable deposit. no name changes (thats the one that nailed me, cant change pax last minute like other rates). fun saver you can cancel with no penalty up until final payment. ES rates dissapear 3 months before on short cruises, 5 months before on 6 day cruises and longer. you have plenty of time to switch rates.

firefly333 Posted August 31, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2012 firefly, Thanks for the response. If I book now for August-2013 cruise. When will be my final payment? sorry Im not sure. I think its 75 days before your cruise date. For ES though, it dissapears 5 months before your cruise, so you cant wait until final payment to switch.. but you could do it say next spring ?
