I think it is just so you have to carry less cash. They just take the certificates and give you the cash. You could walk right out with your cash if you wanted to but I am sure they hope you hang around and spend it.

I'm confused about the promotional offers for "Bon Voyage gifts" on NCL. I understand buying $20 worth of slot play for $10. But above it, it says you can buy, for instance, $50 play for $50. What is the deal in that?

It helps to avoid the 3% fee for "charging" gambling cash to your onboard account. Unfortunately, it's limited to one per person of each denomination, so it only saves you about $5 total pp. But you can charge it to a credit card and $5 is $5 :D. I just wish they would let me buy $5k worth of them!

Thanks for the info but if one is to use cash for gambling, u won't be charged for the 3%, right?

Correct, you only get charged the 3% if you charge cash against your onboard account.. I prefer not to carry over a couple thousand in cash, so I usually charge it to my account, plus I like the points I get on my credit card :). I suppose the best reason for purchasing the casino credit is to pre-pay and budget your gambling amount ahead of time.

Yes you can! One per person too!

TY. Will purchase both, Glad that I discovered this thread. I was only looking at the NCL 20 for 10. Now I am getting extra 25 for free!!! Woohoo!

Anyone here had been on Norwegian Epic? Do casinos serve free drinks?

Old thread, I realize that. I have a question.

I went to the site where you pay $25 and get $50 worth of credits. http://slotplaycoupons.com/default.php?destination=Norwegian+Cruise+Line I read the terms and conditions, and it talks about how they can AUTOMATICALLY charge your credit/debit card for "subscription fees". Here... let me just paste it:

4. Payment / Fee

Sites may have periodic subscription fees that are defined by the owners of the site at the time of the initial enrollment for subscription. The member is responsible for such fees according to the terms of the site. Once a member has the ability to access the site using the e-ticket assigned to the member, subscription fees become non-refundable.

And then there was this:

5. Automatic Recurring Billing (If Selected By You On The Sign Up Page)

As determined by the content provider of the site, subscription fees may be automatically renewed at the end of the original term selected, for a similar period of time, unless notice is received from the subscriber seven (7) days before renewal. All special introductory offer Members shall be exempt from the 7 day notification requirement, but subscriber must notify EC Suite directly 24 hours prior to the end of the trial/special offer period in order to cancel automatic renewal. All trial/special offer memberships shall renew at the stated membership rate. The maximum term of this agreement is 100 months.

Unless and until this agreement is cancelled in accordance with the terms hereof, subscriber hereby authorizes EC Suite to charge subscriber's chosen payment method to pay for the ongoing cost of membership. Subscriber hereby further authorizes EC Suite to charge subscriber's chosen payment method for any and all additional purchases of services and entertainment provided by the site.

These 2 terms are bothering me. I don't want to get into a situation where they are charging me fees to use the site. It sounds like unless I "unsubscribe", or cancel my membership, or whatever they call it, that they can continue to charge me fees automatically.

Also, what is the "catch"?? Why would they just give away a free $25 to everybody? What do they get out of it?

Thanks!!!!

I hope you get a answer to you question. I am very leery of hidden fees also. I hope there are none here.

It says sites MAY have subscription fees which are DiSCLOSED.

The coupon site for NCL does not have any subscription fees.

I have purchased these slot play coupons for our past three cruises, and have never encountered any fees of any sort. I agree the wording can be confusing, but I believe those terms are relative to land-based properties of some sort, not NCL Cruises.

Buy the coupons, and I hope you hit a jackpot! :D

Yes, you can use both types of coupons.

It is per person per 14 days. But, if you spouse is not a slot player, you can get one in his name and you can play the points off his card.

We have used the slotplay online coupons multiple times and I promise you it is safe. No hidden fees, just a nice way to expand your budget.

I didn't see anything in the replies here so I will ask. I see on the rules for the $50 for $25 from slotplay site that you must have a casino membership on the ship before you can use them. can I join once I am onboard at the casino or do I need to do something online before the cruise? I will be on the pearl. thanks.

Oh goodness. Is this correct? I was just going to purchase my mil this for our sailing on Breakaway on Mother's Day for a gift and I know she does not have a casino membership, although I guess I could just sign her up for one if I had to do so.

Can anyone please let us know about this asap since I would like to do this now while I have the time.

Thanks so much!

dustyrose, this is what I just saw on a different thread:

*********************

Before I buy the slot play coupon, I noticed this in the terms and conditions

"Free Player's Club membership at this casino is required to redeem."

Is this something I have to sign up before going on the ship or can it be done right at the casino on board?

**********************

It looks like you have to sign up for the casino membership onboard, which is fine with me.

I'm going to purchase it.

No worries. You sign up for a Casinos at Sea card right in the casino after you board, and it is completely free. The reason you need to sign up for this is so that your promotional play can be uploaded to your account, and you can download funds into the individual machines you wish to play. Even if you have a CAS card from a previous sailing, you still need to get a new one each cruise.

Hope that helps. :)

thanks js. I hope this is all we have to do. I suppose it is a lot less of a hassle to have passengers do this when they board than have to do it online. it sounds like a great deal to me also and I am going to do it as well. :)

As,WaldosPepper, has stated you will have to sign up,and get a Casino's at card. Free and easy when you board.

The slot coupon's, are great. You cannot, just cash it out. You can however cash out any winning's,that you have. You do have to play the $50, As stated you do not have to play it all at once.
