Photos of Golden Princess Sun Deck Oceanview Cabins S702/S704

We recently completed a B2B on the Golden Princess and I had the opportunity to take photos of cabin S704 (old category CC/new category OS) on turnaround day. S702 should be a mirror image. These are the only two cabins of this type in the Princess fleet as only the Golden has cabins on the Sun Deck. The other cabins on the Sun deck are eight Penthouse Suites (old category PH/new category S5) and two Owner's Suites (old category OS/new category S2). Because all of the other cabins are suites, these cabins are finished like suites with marble counters in the cabin and bathroom and wood trim. These two cabins have full width, floor to ceiling windows which should provide great views. There is also a small deck area with lounge chairs and some greenery just outside doors down the hall.

We were in that area during both cruises and the two cabins were occupied by first time cruisers. I wonder what they will think if they book another oceanview cabin with a standard window and cabin trim?

Thanks for posting these pictures. I have booked this room last August and could never find any pictures of these rooms. Our travel agent told us of these two rooms and took a chance that they would be nicer. They sure look nice. We do not leave till September but glad to know where we will lay our head down to a night.

I am so saving this! We are considering the golden for a Hawaii cruise and these would be ideal! Thanks!

If these are Club Class cabins, I'd look at comparing the price to Window Suites.  I didn't know these existed (very nice), but I'd take a WS anytime (Grand/Golden/Caribbean).  Or does CC stand for another category?

These 2 cabins are not Club Class............

As the OP noted they were cat CC back in 2012 when this thread originated which pre dated Club Class.

S702/704 are Premium Ocean View cabins cat O5.

They are still Ocean View cabins and would not be included in Club Class

All of these suites and the 2 ocean views on Sun Deck were added in a major refit to the Golden in 2009.

I'm so easily confused.  Why are very old threads resurrected?  I didn't even notice the date of the OP.  Are these cabins still on the Golden?  Aren't they like the new ones on the Coral?  Thanks for the clarification.

I think posters searching for info bring up these old threads and they don't pay attention to the date and post on them.

Yes the cabins are still on the Golden.

These 2 OV's are awesome and usually sell out far in advance of any cruises.

I don't think those Coral Princess deck 6 OV cabins adjacent to the casino have windows this big and I don't think the cabin itself is this big. These were also added after the fact when they installed the IC.

It says the ones on the Golden are 274 sq ft.

I realize this is an old thread but if anyone has stayed in either of these rooms, what did you feel are the cons?  Was there much noise with people going in and out the doors to the shuffleboard deck, etc.?

Princess cabins are very quiet in general as far as passageway noise.

There are only 2 of these and they go fast.

IMO......if you are considering these, better grab one while you can.

I have actually stayed in both of these cabins.

S704 was fine.  Occasionally there would be noisy people waiting for the elevator.  Only two of the elevators go to this deck so there is lots of waiting.

S702 had problems.  There is a storage room across the hall -- not shown on the deck plans -- that is used by the Horizon Court -- one deck down.  Late at night the crew would be in and out always banging the door behind.  I should say BANGING!  Also, crew members liked to hide in this hallway to check their mobile phones.  It was weird to walk out of the cabin and find someone loitering.  In S702 we also had problems with the door lock, air conditioning and the refrigerator.

The Golden Princess is leaving the Princess fleet in September 2020.  After that these cabins will be on the P and O Pacific Adventure.
