pre-booking?

The taxi line can be long but can vary, that depends on when you get off the ship...However it moves very quickly as there are lots of taxis trying to get your business and get out of there...Really no need to pre-book..that could end up being more trouble than it's worth...

We pre-booked all our transportation needs in Barcelona this summer with a single transportation provider. We had transport from BCN to the hotel (we arrived a day early), hotel to Port and Port to Airport with Autos Vilar. It was extremely smooth and easy. There were 5 of us, and it was comforting to know what the price would be before arriving and that all this was arranged, particularly because we had a tight connection on our flight out of BCN.

There was always someone waiting for us with a sign with our name on it. They have a website, just google them.

I really enjoy having a meet and greet service -- especially if a long flight, over night etc. When you are tired and the language is not yours and you have to find the ATM before the cab and wait on line etc etc. it is stressful. In Barcelona, we thought we would take the airport bus but couldn't find it, then we tried a cab but was told we had jumped line (didn't know where line started) and finally got a cab that overcharged us. Maybe you will do better. When someone greets you with your name (or something kinda of close:p) and he grabs some of your luggage and takes you to the car that is in the close up parking lot and he knows where you are going. NICE VERY NICE. Also it is not always that much more expensive than other transportation. We usually find that a tour package with guide and car/driver shared among our party of 3 allows us to see and do much more and much more pleasantly than DIY. We have done both and many times. It is nicer to have prebooked transfers and tours.
