showmtway Posted October 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2012 We will be in Costa Rica on a Sunday. Princess has available tours that includes visits to banana plantations. Has anyone visited a plantation on a Sunday ? When I called Princess I was told that all tours on their listings will have accessibility to all mentioned sites every day. Then why the mention of the plantations being closed on Sunday ? Hope someone can help me out !
caribill Posted October 18, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2012 Are you talking about the general list of shore excursions under the "Learn About Princess" drop down menu or are you talking about the list specifically for your sailing that you find the the cruise personalizer once the shore excursions are available for your cruise? If the former, then you will have no true information about the availability on your specific cruise. If the latter, what is listed is what you can book. Now some excursions may have a stop on them indicated as closed on a particular day, but if the the primary focus of the excursion is what you are talking about, it would be open if the excursion is offered on your cruise. showmtway Posted October 19, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted October 19, 2012 Yes,meant the tours that are available to us as we are already booked and paid up ( yeah !) for the 12/10/12 Panama Canal cruise. Thanks !
AKman2495 Posted October 19, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2012 When we were on our tours they mentioned that the plantations were closed on Sunday but that for tours, the services listed in the tour would be provided. It is just that the majority of the workers would not be there.

caribill Posted October 19, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 19, 2012 Not on your cruise, but on cruises elsewhere often attractions that are closed to the public that day are open for Princess tours. For example, the island of Delos is closed on Mondays, but a Princess tour can go there. Only the small museum on the island is actually not available that day. (When we went to Delos, many on board had expected to save $$ by hopping a ferry over to the island. They were quite upset to learn they cound not do so on a Monday and were angry that Princess did not warn them. By the time they did learn this, the Princess excursion was fully booked.)
