G&G Posted November 25, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 25, 2012 Does anyone know what Port the Riviera will be docking at when she is in Tortola? Is it Road Town? For this size ship, I only know of one docking area and that is at Road Town.
Rare LHT28 Posted November 25, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 25, 2012 You can check where the ship dock on your day at http://bviports.org/?cruiseship They only have 2012 schedule out so far We docked at the Cruise pier which is a short walk to Road Town I think Spanish Town is near Virgin Gorda but I could be confused ;) It happens when we age Lyn
roothy123 Posted November 29, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2012 You can easily walk to restaurants and shops, although I didn't see a whole lot in the town itself. If you want to see more of the island, you'll need to rent a car or take an excursion or hire a driver. We rented a car (well, a jeep) from Hertz. It wasn't a great experience (flat tire with no way to contact them; long wait when we returned the jeep, as the rental agency is at the yacht harbor 15 minutes away, etc.) but it was fun tooling around the island. Rare LHT28 Posted November 29, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 29, 2012 Tortola there was an island tour right at the end of the pier $20 USD PP we met many people on the ship's tours at the same stops ;) after the tour we walked into town lots of shops, restaurants etc plus lots of locals outside the gates selling their wares
