25dbb Posted May 28, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2005 For those considering this hotel---some observations from a stay by our group there on Friday May 6th---- Pros---- Good quick airport shuttle service--We had a large group that arrived late (almost 11pm) and they were very quick and all but 4 could fit on the shuttle and it was only about 20 minutes until they got back for the others. Fairly clean----although one room had a beer bottle setting on the bathroom sink Great showers!!! Service to room was quick---had a problem with a light---they were there quickly Cons---- Check in was fairly slow------- I guess not that much staff at 11pm and Check out in the morning was TERRIBLE. This hotel should know that they primarily cater to cruisers on Friday and Saturday nights and most check out at approximately the same time in the morning. Have staffing to accomodate this. At one point their whole lobby was filled with a long line of people waiting to check out. Breakfast was lousy!!! Eggs were runny and cold. Only two wait staff trying to fill the food, clean the tables, and seat the people waiting. Again-- most all were cruisers trying to get breakfast at approximately the same time---STAFF accordingly. This breakfast probably wouldn't be bad if there weren't MANY hunger cruisers there at the same time. Outside entrances to rooms......This hotel is really a motel---with outside entrances to rooms----making for more noise late and early. Our group coming in late probably added to the noise until we got settled. There is nothing they can do to improve this---just don't book this hotel if you can't deal with that. An interesting sidelight----Some of our group booked their flights at a late date and couldn't book this hotel with us. They booked the Red Carpet Inn nearby and left there approximately 11:30 because they couldn't stand the dirt, noise, smell, and can over to the Ramada and stayed in rooms with the rest of our group (their cousins) They said the Ramada was palace compaired to the Red Carpet Inn. The internet price for the Ramada was 59$ per night and I guess you get what you pay for.....just couldn't help remembering when we stayed at the Embassy Suites with a Hotwire bid of 54$ in early 2003 and compairing the difference. Can't touch the Embassy Suites for that price anymore. I guess since we were only at the Ramada for 11 hours, we did okay, but we won't book this place again.... dbb25
