Qwksilver Posted November 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2012 We were able to bring wine (and a few other purchases made in the duty free) on aboard Princess before we set sail for the southern caribbean. Is this possible on Celebrity as well? Thanks for the help Scott

Stupid question :o :o...Is bringing a bottle of champagne on board permissible? We are driving to the port so would be able to easily carry it aboard in our carry-on. Superweezie Posted December 4, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 4, 2012 Where does it say that about checked luggage? This is directly from the website. Does Celebrity charge a corkage fee? No beer or hard liquor may be brought onboard for consumption. Guests wishing to bring personal wine onboard with them at the beginning of the cruise may do so, limited to two (2) bottles per stateroom. When consumed in any shipboard restaurant, bar or dining venue, each bottle shall be subject to a corkage fee of $25.00. The only exception to this policy is on our "Wine Cruises," which depart on the following dates: Celebrity Century: 9/25/12 Celebrity Constellation: 9/07/12 – 11/18/12 Celebrity Millennium: 9/25/12 On the sail dates above, guests who book a company sponsored winery tours are permitted to bring 2 bottles of wine from the winery per stateroom onboard on the day of the tour. When consumed in any shipboard restaurant, bar or dining venue, each bottle will be subject to a $25 corkage fee. If a guest receives a bottle of wine that was purchased from our Bon Voyage Gift selection, no corkage fee will apply if the bottle is consumed in the dining room or any public area. If a guest receives a bottle from an outside vendor and/or travel agent, and the bottle was not purchased through our Bon Voyage selection, then a $25.00 corkage fee per bottle will apply if they wish to consume the wine in the dining room or any other public area. The fee will be applied to the guest's onboard account. Alcoholic beverages purchased in ports of call or from onboard shops will be stored onboard and delivered to guest staterooms on the last day of the sailing. erinpdx Posted December 6, 2012 #7 Share Posted December 6, 2012 For those of you who have sailed on the Summit out of San Juan, can you tell me if there is a place nearby to purchase bottles of wine?
flightguy Posted December 6, 2012 #8 Share Posted December 6, 2012 We have used this store for 5 different cruises, with Celebrity and Princess, and we have purchased from and have not had it confiscated, even when carrying it one of their bags. Their wine selection is not the best, and I believe they do not have beer. The website shows their prices as of Dec 2011. They are located after check-in at the terminal just before getting on the ship. http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/san-juan-cruise-pier-duty-free/
huskerc Posted December 6, 2012 #9 Share Posted December 6, 2012 For those of you who have sailed on the Summit out of San Juan, can you tell me if there is a place nearby to purchase bottles of wine? There is a Pueblo grocery store not far from the cruise port that sells wine. See if this map link works for you; it's the one on Ponce de Leon. In the satellite photo, you can see a cruise ship docked just to the west. https://maps.google.com/maps?q=pueblo+&hl=en&ll=18.457602,-66.087703&spn=0.018095,0.027874&sll=18.466334,-66.105722&sspn=0.289498,0.445976&t=w&fll=18.45345,-66.085675&fspn=0.017342,0.027874&hq=pueblo&z=
