BrendaB1 Posted May 29, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 29, 2005 Lots of winners on Carnival ships. I usually do alright & have won quite a bit on several ships & have lots of friends that have hit while onboard. Carnival even had a huge winner on the Glory several months ago. Good luck! Eliot Ness Posted May 29, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 29, 2005 I think the slots are much tighter on the ships than in a land based casino. My on-line research also seems to go along with that. As one reviewer said, "before I'd play slots on a cruise ship I'd throw a hand full of quarters out the car window and the jerk the gear shift lever up & down." My wife and I love to play the slots, but I've never hit big or even came close to breaking even at the end of a cruise. I have seen people hit some good jackpots, but I haven't been one of them yet. I just allocate "x" amount of $$$$ for gambling and consider it an entertainment expense. Next month I think I'll try my hand at the Black Jack tables. Ever since I started researching the new slot machines and how they use RNG's to generate the winners it has taken some of the fun out of it for me. CoachTerry14 Posted May 29, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 29, 2005 My wife and I have hit numerous small jackpots some as high as $600. I have also hit a Royal Flush at least once (up to 3 times on one cruise) during 3 Card Poker on each of my last 4 Carnival cruises. My wife has also made it to the Slot Championship twice! JGB Posted May 29, 2005 #6 Share Posted May 29, 2005 The slots are tighter on ships as opposed to land based casino's as a general rule. However lady luck does love the sea. I have won $8000.00 on one cruise 5000.00 on another and $4000.00 on a third. Please note I have also given alot of that back on other cruises. My point is simply one can win. I have also spent too much time in the casino but that is for another topic. Enjoy! John

richfret Posted May 30, 2005 #12 Share Posted May 30, 2005 There you go again! You asked the wrong question and now we will get pages of cruisers telling about all their winnings. Now the correct question is "How much did you win after subtracting all the monies you paid". Now that should reduce the replies by about 86 percent or more since that is what a Vegas Casino would pay. On a cruise ship, the say it is a lot less. derf5585 Posted May 30, 2005 #13 Share Posted May 30, 2005 we will get pages of cruisers telling about all their winnings. I seems the only ones who don't win in the casino is you and me.
JGB Posted May 30, 2005 #14 Share Posted May 30, 2005 derf-- The 8K came this way--It weas a 7 day cruise, Sunday to Sunday. I had been on the Jubilee once before and gotten my butt kicked, so I was familiar with the machines. On Tuesday I got a Royal Flush for 4K I had been playing that poker machine hard and was doing OK prior to me hitting.(this despite an terrible pay table). Then on Saturday(last day) my wife and I were in the casino and she left for lunch and I went to get a massage. As I was leaving I looked at my watch and noticed that I was a tad early. So I went back into the casino and sat down at that video poker machine. It dealt me a Royal!! Another 4K and I made my massage appt. John
KBC73 Posted May 30, 2005 #15 Share Posted May 30, 2005 On the Valor two weeks ago I was down over $400 as of Friday. The first $20 I played on Saturday proved to be a winner. I was playing a progressive quarter machine and hit for $675. Later that day I hit another machine for $625. On Saturday alone I won over $850. For the entire cruise I won over $400. I was extremely happy the way things worked out. Kevin
BrendaB1 Posted May 30, 2005 #16 Share Posted May 30, 2005 I hit two small jackpots on Inspiration on quarter slots but several other little payoffs & won more than enough to pay for my cruise. Now that was a great cruise.
GoinCruisin Posted May 30, 2005 #17 Share Posted May 30, 2005 I wish my mind was straight tonight, but there was a CC member, that used to be very active here (I wish I could remember her name!!!) that won a very nice amount in the casino several months ago... I have heard many stories about winning a good amount of money... I am not a big gambler, but if I ever win a decent amount, I bet I will be! LOL!!! southbayer Posted May 30, 2005 #19 Share Posted May 30, 2005 ok, to answer the question, the slots to me, seem looser than las vegas which i go to regularly. The reason i beleive is, there are fewer naturally, slot machines, which get used frequently. The more frequent they get used, the more possiblitly of winning... jster Posted May 30, 2005 #22 Share Posted May 30, 2005 Hello Everyone. We were on the Victory May 1. I won $630 on slots. It all happened within an hour on 3 different machines. It was a lucky night for sure. I think it was on Thursday night, so it was towards the end of our trip.

rimith Posted June 1, 2005 #24 Share Posted June 1, 2005 I won $1385 on a penny slot machine last week on the Legend. This was on the way back. I was playing 300 coins, which is $3, so it really isn't a penny machine. Bad news was I received a W2 for my winnings. Also, back in 2000, I had a straight flush playing caribean stud poker on the last night of a cruise on the Fantasy.
richfret Posted June 1, 2005 #25 Share Posted June 1, 2005 Thanks Blue Ribbon Cruiser. I found those 3 web sites really interesting and passed them on to some of my friends. Now I can understand why I am losing. Before I would lose and did not know better. Will I continue to gamble? You bet-cha! (I hate puns)
