kicker Posted December 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2012 We had to cancel an Oct 29 cruise on Miracle due to Hurricane Sandy. We were offered a full refund and as of Dec 1, still no word. Anyone else have any experience or problems with a similar occurrence? Called Carnival today; no one available to speak to until Monday at the earliest. jonathansburden Posted December 1, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 1, 2012 We received our refund in a few seperate transactions, the last one going in about a week ago. We're just waiting on our meal reimbursement (it was the Pride sailing).
kicker Posted December 4, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted December 4, 2012 One hour on the phone Oct 27 to cancel originally (Carnival moved our cruise up a day; couldn't make travel arrangements, were offered by E-Mail a full refund). 20 minutes on the phone Saturday; was told I'd get called back on Monday - never heard from them. 35 minutes on the phone today (Tuesday), still not resolved - they're "supposed" to call me back again. Not exactly what I'd consider good customer service:(.
fla2nc Posted December 4, 2012 #4 Share Posted December 4, 2012 take forever it seems & come in separate amounts...payment on the other hand is taken almost immediately upon booking...hmmm wonder why? Wishing a speedy recovery & refund process to everyone affected by Sandy & other natural disasters...you are in my thoughts & prayers! :p
leadout_kv Posted December 4, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 4, 2012 My first thought when I read the title of this thread was that you tried to cancel and were unable to. Most cruise line, not just Carnival, are pretty strict with their cancellation rules. I'd be thrilled with being offered a full refund. It may take a while and I'm certainly sympathetic towards ones who really need the refund fast, like hurricane victims, but at least you've been offered a full refund. Just trying to look at this in a positive manner.:)

Has Carnival closed down until Monday or is it just that your PVP is out? Call back and keep calling.
Brenna's Mom1 Posted December 4, 2012 #7 Share Posted December 4, 2012 From what I see the original post was on Saturday and they were told to call on Monday when people (other then 3rd party phone reps) actually work.
