disney charactors on ship?

Are there disney charactors on the ship that kids can meet? I have tried to search for this but didn't find anything.

Yes. On our cruises we've seen: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Ariel, Cinderella, Tiana, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Beast, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, Lilo, Stitch, Capt. Jack Sparrow, Chip & Dale, Alice, Peter Pan. Not all characters are on all cruises.

They actually publish the times for the meets/pictures, but you can run into them randomly too. Other than Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy, I don't think you can really guarantee any of them being there. There's not gonna be a shortage of characters though. Out of Shmoo's list, I didn't see Ariel, the Beast, Lilo, or Alice out and about, but I definitely remember Ariel and the Beast being the in shows. Can't remember if Lilo or Alice were in the shows (I may have fallen asleep in the middle of one of them).

They are indeed all over and pop up everywhere! We were on the Fantasy last month, waiting for a elevator, when the doors open, out popped Stitch who spent some time in the area, with the kids!

One thing we have noticed on the cruises is the Chararters have more time to spend with each child, then they do in the parks.

Have a great cruise.:D

not as much/often as I expected. BUT they do have published meet/greet/picture times and they (well, Magic did) have a character breakfast.

we also saw the queen from alice and wonder land and pain or something from something...

I think I only saw one princess.

I saw chip and dale everywhere.

This post is in response to Carnivalgirl3....I was so disappointed to read that you only saw one Princess on your cruise. My granddaughter is expecting to see most of the major Princesses like the Disney Cruise web site indicated. Has anyone else had this experience and can comment on this?

(Yes, they do spend time with the kids, and will sign the books. Also, the staff will take pictures or they'll pose for you to take pictures. So you don't have to buy all of the ones with the characters. At the breakfast, the characters come to each table, sign and take pictures.).

My toddler doesn't know who they are. we didn't go looking for them.

They had a few princess gatherings (I'm guessing the other princesses where there during this time?). I only saw one walking around, snow white, I think?

I know bella, Tinana?, Minnie, daisy had set times for meetings. I'm not sure about the others.

Characters: goofy, minnie, stitch (he was popular! long line) mickey, chip and dale, donald, daisy, pluto, capt. hook. Those are the ones I see in the Navigator listings.

Please note, the characters WILL leave with a line of kids waiting. Get in line early. During the walk around, the characters don't care if there's a line. There was group of upset girls a few times when one just walked away. I'm glad dd didn't know who they were! we were 'in line' I though, for goofy, and when he was done, he was done! The red queen just waved and walked, then found a new crowd.

Carny girl is mistaken. My wife and I have done 4 DCL cruises and the Prinesses are all over, not to mention the other charaters.

The times are indeed posted in the navigators.

Also the charaters, princesses do NOT just leave with a line waiting. Each charater has a time with the children and then do leave, but another charater comes along to continue to meet the children that were on line. It maybe another prinicess or another charater.

When the last charater is nearing their time to end, the handler will close the line and the charater stays to see the last child.

DCL always goes over the top..my favorite charater doing something specail for the kids, was Belle. We were on a *art of the vessel tour* on the Magic. One of the gals there had a 7 or 8 old girl with her on the tour and Belle came by with a storyook, she waved and said she was off to a story telling session, but the lil girl broke into tears, crying that Belle did not stay.

Well, Belle spun around walked back to us and plopped to the deck and sat with the lil girl talking for a few mintue and then explained that she had to go, but...............at 1900 that night she would be coming out of the door (she had just came out of) and if the lil girl was there, she could walk with Belle to the greeting session.

Just another Disney magical moment.

Don't worry, your lil one will see lots of princesses and charaters.

We ran into Belle, Minnie Mouse, Dale, Rabbit from Alice and Wonderland, Peter Pan (all just by chance). My husband ran into an Ape from Tarzan. Lilo and Stitch went to the kid's club during the Hawiian party. I think Princesses go to the clubs too. We were lucky enough to ride back to the ship with Dale on Castaway Cay day. It was so cute when he held my daugher's hand and skipped with her back to the ship. My daughter had her picture taken with Belle, Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora, Tiana, Queen of Hearts, Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, and more when we waited in line for pictures at the designated times. Ariel is on Wonder not Magic for meet and greet. On Magic you will only see Ariel in the show.

I hope this helps.:)

It happened three times! I just got off the ship...I'm NOT mistaken. I didn't go the princess gathering or set times they were listed. Yes, I only saw Snow White while *I* was walking around the ship. (That doesn't mean the others didn't/weren't there, just means *I* didn't see them.)

We were in line for one character (Donald). We were next in line, he left and was replaced by mickey. I wouldn't have waited for Mickey, we already had Mickey. I wasn't aware one would leave and be replaced. It's nbd since dd doesn't know/care, but if she did, then it'd be important for her to understand they may leave!

The red queen was doing a walk around. She moved spots, we and others followed. We got our picture, but the girls behind us didn't. The red queen waved and walked off after us. And yes, there was a line behind us. They were very upset. I was told by staff it's common for them to sign/take pictures, then walk off. (I asked before getting in line after that to make sure I would be able to see the character I wanted to! I wasn't waiting for Stitch if I wasn't going to get pictures.)

I stand by my statements:

Get in line early.

During the walk around, the characters don't care if there's a line. I saw this with the red queen and snow white (or one of them). She continued walking and didn't stop or pay attention to the kids (I'm sure she was going somewhere).

There was at least two princess gatherings listed. Which means you can go then to meet them if you don't run into them on the ship.

You can also call a number once on the ship for a complete listing of where/when they'll be.

The head characters (those with a mask or head structure as opposed to face characters with their own faces showing) have strict rules about how long they can stay in the head without a break. Outdoors it's based on the temperature. They try to get moving before time's up but sometimes they have to just get up and bail on the kids left in line. Their escort is in charge of the time cues.

It's a safety thing, you can't have characters on stage passing out due to heat exhaustion.

OK.......you were unintentionally misleading, this qoute.

Please note, the characters WILL leave with a line of kids waiting. Get in line early.

As I stated when a charareter time ends, they leave they never *JUST WALK AWAY*, they will wave and qiuckly explain they need to go.

You also left out that the handlers tell the line who is next and that charater comes along in a very few minutes.

The remaining line is never left just hanging.

As Mick stated, those meet and greets are not easy, they are alot of hard/hot work, the chararters need a break.

I didn't leave out anything. The handler did NOT tell me/the line who was next or that Donald was leaving or say anything to me/the line. Donald did not explain anything. (I'm pretty sure he was hot, as the ship itself was hot. I do understand strict rules/time limits.) I saw Donald, the line wasn't long, I waited with dd. Boy in front of me had his picture. Then Donald left and Mickey appeared. I was only upset because we already had Mickey and I wasted time waiting in line for no reason.

The red queen, while inside, DID walk away, without a word/wave, twice. The first time we followed, thinking she was just moving out of the walk way. The second time, was after our picture.

I'm stated what happened to ME. You can't 'correct' that.

This was only my first Disney cruise and my only experience with Characters. It's highly likely this was a one time thing and isn't normal. I really don't know. After that, I learned my lesson and asked the handler before I waited in line. My point and lesson is, I won't tell my kid, hey picture with Mickey unless I KNOW we'll get a picture.

My intention isn't to dis Disney or the Characters, just to warn that they may leave with a line of kids waiting for them (for whatever reason). The handler for Stitch explained to me Red Queen was doing a walk around and said it's normal for them to take a few pictures/greet a few kids, then walk off, stop/greet, walk and repeat.
