jf3284 Posted May 31, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2005 Hi Sharon, Was on Sapphire last July w/family including 2 kids. They have EVERYTHING you'll need including supervised areas for all different age kids. Note the employees in the kids areas are younger, whatever minimum age is, and are very cool with the kids. They even had a kids "princess idol" which my 13 year old daughter won (tied w/another girl) The kids couldn't be pried away from the supervised kids area which goes up til late hours if you let them. Note you have to sign off on all activities they are permitted to do or whatever in these areas at the outset or prior to the cruise. You'll ALL love it ! epanic1 Posted May 31, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 31, 2005 We were on the Sapphire in Australia/New Zealand for two weeks and our three children were in the program for kids and LOVED IT. There was plenty to do and they met lots of new friends in which they still email them My children are ages 7,10,13.
WCAB Posted May 31, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 31, 2005 We have a 10 year and 11 year old. Would love to know if they would be in the same group. Anyone know? Carol
epanic1 Posted May 31, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 31, 2005 Yes, both your children will be in the same program which is nice for them and for you. They will be in the Princess Pirateers . (ages 8-12) When you are at sea the program begins at 9am to noon, 2pm-4 or 5pm and then again at 7pm-10am. They can go to all the programs or pick and chose when they want to go. The first day you are on board there will be an open house of the kids centre. Go and find out more about it and sign up. When you arrive in your stateroom there should be a children's program for the entire week. Usually once the kids read that they get very excited and want to go and check things out. Have a good trip!
Cruisin' Chick Posted June 2, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 2, 2005 The age division really depends on how many kids are on-board. During holiday times (incl. spring break weeks), there will be more groups (4 plus teens) with fewer ages in each group. Fewer kids: more ages grouped in just 3 groups. Went during February and August on Princess and found more activities for kids when more kids on-board.
idcruisers Posted June 2, 2005 #7 Share Posted June 2, 2005 Will be on the Sapphire October 15th with 3 kids (10,15,17). Is there an arcade on this ship (the type with coin operated games)? We were on the CP last year and there was not. I am hoping it is the same with this ship. The playstations in the clubs were just fine.
