$400-600 in cash in a secluded place at 4 am is a recipe for disaster anyplace. I have never felt unsafe in NO, but do not roam this area's in the mid am. Be aware.

New Orleans is like any other big city, it has crime, they all do. Rampart is a good bit away from the cruise terminals, and at that time of morning?!?:confused:

 

I do business in NOLA and stay in the city at least 2 nights a month. I would suggest staying closer to the river in the downtown, Convention Center area, or even in the French Quarter. Rampart is at the fringe of the French Quarter.
