Sargent_Schultz Posted January 15, 2013 Author #556 Share Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) I was reading on John Heald's FB page that they are experimenting with opening the Punchliner Brunch an hour early. That should help some with those who object to the later opening and also shift the rush away from a more civilized hour when I might show up. :p {I should add - on Carnival Breeze - but it sounds like a hit} Edited January 15, 2013 by Sargent_Schultz

Sargent_Schultz Posted January 15, 2013 Author #559 Share Posted January 15, 2013 The rules from the Fun Times (Daily Paper) on Smoking "Smoking is prohibited in all guest staterooms. Guests in balcony rooms are hen come back.permitted to smoke on the stateroom balcony. Smoking is permitted in the Casino while playing at designated slot machines and table games, one section of the Casino Bar, in Vincent's Lounge, Henri's Nightclub, and deck 10 midship starboard (right) side only. Cigar/pipe smoking is only permitted in the Vincent's Lounge and Deck 10 Starboard Side and stateroom balconies." Is the sports bar still a smoking bar now that they've upgraded to 2.0? No smoking in the EA sports bar, but you could pretend to play a machine in the smoking section of the adjoining casino or the casino bar, and then return. So - do you recommend the Brunch?? What was your experience?? I was really looking forward to it - but then I've seen so many mixed reviews - now not I'm not sure.  As ALWAYS love your reviews - and pictures - and look forward to whatever is up next! ;) :D

Wonderful! I'm very glad there's no smoking so I can actually spend some time in there. Smoke messes with my asthma pretty bad.

I thought it was great and looking forward to trying it again on Carnival Sunshine. That can't come soon enough. My best recommendation is for you to ignore reviews and try it and decide for yourself. I always believe in living my own life. Two people can be on the same cruise and have completely different experiences (or experience perception), often based on preconceptions. Complainers always make more noise than satisfied customers who often don't make any comment at all. Thank you! There is still more to come here, but have another cruise in a couple of weeks or so. Smoke messes with my asthma pretty bad. Sometimes smokers don't know the rules, or may sometime just ignore them. Sometimes Carnival doesn't enforce their rules. Sometimes we have to remind them to enforce their rules. Don't be shy. ;)

danny91180 Posted January 15, 2013 #570 Share Posted January 15, 2013 2 questions: 1. Does the Conquest have a Serenity Deck now that its got it's 2.0 upgrades? 2. Platinum VIFP guests get to skip the line and tender ports such as Mahagany. Do you get to skp the line both ways or is it only getting off the ship? Roatan (Mahogany) s not a tender port. But yes, Platinums can get priority tendering from the ship. Only in Alaska have I seen it both ways. You're welcome! Pellaz Posted January 15, 2013 #572 Share Posted January 15, 2013 LOVED those great pics at Chankanaab! Really impressed with the dolphin shots! I really wanted to go there on my visit to Coz, but Imagination's itinerary -- arriving kinda late and then leaving at 8 or 9pm -- didn't leave too much beach or park time since they all seem to close at around 5pm. Plus the weather was a bit showery, so we went to Paradise Beach and had a decent -- and quite inexpensive! -- time. Side note for the person who asked about PB: Although the snorkeling isn't particularly good at PB, I found quite a few schools of fish near the end of the dock to the left side of the beach itself. Saw in your pictures a long line to get on the tenders back to he ship but never saw a vip line. You ar pretty good at capturing stuff like hat if it exists so I was wondering if there was a vip line back to the ship. We are taking the same 7 day soon. Have fun on he Elation...we always did. I also think it might be possible to arrange for snorkel trips from Paradise Beach. Also there are a couple of other beach clubs adjacent to PB that might have additional activities. No Priority line but it isn't bad. Those who wait until the last minute will find the longest line. Obviously not everyone can fit on the "last" tender.
