scotpom Posted January 31, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2013 We intend to use our on board credits for onshore excursions on the Journey later this year. How much extra ( in % terms ) are the excursions when we book onboard against prices available now on line. Looking forward to our first Azamara cruie. Heard great things!! Scotpom:) Q.E.2, Crystal Serenity, Celebrity Summit, Millenium, Constellation, HAL Oosterdam and P&O (rather not say)

Hi Happyforholidays, Unless something has changed, I'm farily certain the OBC cannot be used to book online. Hopefully, another CC member will confirm. Bill Leiber Posted February 2, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 2, 2013 Can the OBC be used prior to the cruise, to get the discounted shore excursion prices?? Hello Happyforholidays & Scottpom - As Andy stated our Onboard Spending Credits (OBC) that are offered on some marketing programs must be used onboard and cannot be redeemed prior to the voyage on our website or through reservations. Usually, the language published in our marketing pieces states: “The Onboard Spending Credit is in U.S. Dollars; credit is per stateroom; has no cash value; is not redeemable for cash; is not transferable; can be combined with most other offers (although certain restrictions may apply); OBC will expire if not used by 10 pm on the last evening of the guests’ voyage; Guests purchasing single occupancy rates will receive the full stateroom rate.” These credits may be used for: § Specialty restaurants extra charge ($25/person) § Onboard gift shops § Shore excursions booked onboard - Please note that to be eligible for the savings of 25% on 2013 Land Discoveries (LDS) requires online pre-booking at least four (4) days prior to your voyage, and is not available once onboard ship. § Non-included alcoholic beverages § Corkage fees § Medical services § Photographs § Spa Treatments § Internet packages § Laundry / Dry-cleaning, pressing Since these OBC have no cash value, they cannot be used in the Casino or for additional gratuities to staff. We look forward to welcoming you onboard Azamara in the future! I guess now that all drinks etc. are included our best option is to use the OBC on shore excursions. Scotpom:)

I have an oceanview cabin and that's what I was told by my travel agent. :-) Hi Scubagirl, Starting with the Europe 2013 season, Azamara will be adding a number of new enhancements. One of which, is select spirits, beer and wines. You can read more about it here : http://www.azamaraclubcruises.com/2013-enhancements I hope this helps ! WarmH2OSailing Posted February 17, 2013 #11 Share Posted February 17, 2013 I understand the uses of OBC as described by Bill...BUT...I assume these OBCs are only those associated with various marketing and discount programs from and by Azamara or RCCL. What about the OBCs that come from separate travel agencies and programs outside of the RCCL family that remain an avenue for a percentage of the discounts provided by those sources to be given to their customers? For more than 20 cruises on X, RCCl and even previous Azamara trips, I've used a small percent of my OBC in the casino with no problem. WWS Hello WWS - You are correct in your assumption that Azamara sponsored OBCs offered in conjunction with marketing programs cannot be used in the casino since they have no cash value and are not redeemable for cash. On the other hand, if a travel agent purchases an onboard credit for you from Azamara, then this type of OBC does have a cash value and can be used in the Casino. Thank you for the opportunity to point out this distinction.
