Vatican Tickets - differences in the ticket options?

I believe the credit card issue was resolved. I just checked the Vatican website and it appears they take credit cards at least as of today.

 

Apparently, they were able to work out a deal with a "guarantee" provided by a third party and resumed taking credit cards on Feb 12. Not only were the tourists put out, but the employees were complaining as well!

Does anyone know how much earlier than your reserved ticket time for the Vatican Museum & Colosseum do you have to show up?

 

So say, res at 10:00 a.m., pick up tickets at 9:50 a.m.? Or even earlier (like 9:30)? Or right at 10?

Just go for it. Don't ask the guide--they will tell you no. It's much easier than it sounds. DH and I just walked straight through.

With all the issues the Vatican is dealing with now, I bet a ticketed entrance to the Sistine is on the back burner.
