Explorer of the Seas August 31st, 2013

I am looking into the Explorer of the Seas for August 31st, 2013. However, online and travel agents are saying the booking is unavailable. A rep from Royal Caribbean is saying that the booking is closed, but should reopen soon. Anyone have any idea what this means?

Many reasons...could be its possibly being chartered or closed for cabin inventory. It also might mean they are switching the itinerary and doing away with the sailing. This happened to me for my cruise booked for the Explorer on September 29th. I originally had it booked for September 15th and they changed the itinerary.

Thanks. It was the one week we are looking to go away over Rosh Hashanah. I hope they reopen the booking

I'm on that cruise (8-31-13 EOS) .. and the last day for payment is June 17th - at which time rooms may open up because people will have changed their minds about the cruise, or unable to pay it off at that time. You might want to diary to call them on that date. Alternatively, I have worked with a particular rep from RCI ... I can give you his information, direct line and you can call and see if he can get you on that ship or put your name on a list perhaps to call you on the 17th. I don't know that they can do that but it's worth the try.....
