are the French balconies worth it?

We are booked on Dec. 7th Spirit "Thailand and Temples of Burma" cruise. Wondering if the french balconies are worth it? We last sailed on Seabourn in 1998 to indonesia, which was "pre balcony". Thanks for the feedback.
