So what cruise ships are U.S. based? I am so ready to go on another cruise, but am not sure which, if any are U.S based.

Pretty much all of the mass market cruise lines that operate regularly out of the United States also have their headquarts in the US as well.

That thought (and interpretation) of the OP's query also came to mind, but that would result in an extremely limiting selection (i.e. American Cruise Line, American Queen Steamboat Company, NCL's Pride of America). I only assumed then that they meant 'based' (headquartered) and not 'registered' (flagged).

Practically all cruise lines are registered in a foreign country. (Panama is popular).

Many of those cruise lines have large USA offices.
