Lsimon Posted February 18, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2013 Not open port days for lunch. It is open every day for breakfast, except possibly the day of the Brunch. The Brunch does include breakfast items among the large array of other foods served but starts later then the normal breakfast - usually around 10AM and running through lunch time. jackdiamond Posted February 18, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2013 Blu is open for breakfast every day even on the brunch day. A little while ago we did the brunch even when we were in AQ; and, it was interesting. However, once was enough; hence, it was breakfast in Blu in lieu of the brunch. Of course, Michael's with lox and bagel, sans bagel and cream cheese, with a morning bloody mary added to the Blu breakfast.
Rare cruisestitch Posted February 18, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 18, 2013 Michael's is not something the general run of passengers can access, so it's perhaps best to not think of going there, and it is actually used for the Elite breakfast on fewer and fewer cruises, as there are too many Elites to accommodate there, and the breakfast venue is generally changed to one of the Specialty Restaurants. To answer the OP's question The MDR is open for breakfast every day except for the day of the brunch. As stated, the MDR is closed for lunch on port days. DebbieMacG Posted February 18, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 18, 2013 On our Norway cruise last year the MDR was open for lunch on a port day so it can happen! Although its not the norm :)
Rare cruisestitch Posted February 18, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2013 Would that have been in Molde? Where the ship doesn't arrive until after lunch? Yes, that might make for an exception, but there aren't many port stops like that one. The same happens in San Juan where Reflection doesn't arrive until mid afternoon and the MDR is open for lunch that day. In general, where a ship arrives in the morning and departs in the afternoon, the MDR is not open for lunch that day.
