Would you choose this Cabin again: YES

 

BALCONY SIZE: larger due to being a suite, longer but no wider than other cabins

 

Any other comments: loved the position near rear stairs for Windows Cafe and Speciality restaurants and pool deck. Very very noisy aircon though, so loud it was hard to hear above it especially noticeable at night. Great cabin attendants, butler in training!

After reading 16 pages and not seeing anything about rooms 7000 or 7001 on Journey. Has anyone stayed in either of these rooms. Front facing, windy? Etc. thanks

 

Use the Search This Thread function at the top of the page. You may have to do it twice (once for each number), but you shouldn't need the name of the ship because Azamara's cabin numbers are consistent.

Don't see many comments about interior cabins. We've always booked balconies, but the ship is getting pricier every year and there is a port-intensive itinerary I'd like to take with a considerable savings for an interior. This cabin, close to the infirmary, is available...and seems to look a little larger than the other interior cabins. No comments have been made about the interiors on the 4th deck. Anyone have any info? And has anyone any advice about taking an interior cabin, in general? I am spoiled by Azamara and wonder if I could handle a little claustrophobia for the pleasure of another voyage. Thanks for any help!

DW and I started out sailing Insides and were never bothered by claustrophobia -- on the contrary, the lack of light leakage enhanced our ability to sleep! Then we made the mistake of booking a mini-suite on a Panama Canal cruise, and I'm afraid there's no going back. :D But I do have some kinda-relevant info for you, since we sailed in cabin 7040 on Oceania Insignia [same as 7040 on the Azamara ships]. It was smaller than the outside cabins, but was laid out so well that it worked fine. The only problem was that there is a service door directly opposite and cabin crew members were bumping their carts over the threshold very early in the morning. Looking at the deck plans for cabin 4034, it does seem larger, and it is surrounded by other cabins on that deck so it should be quiet. The only noise issues I can't rule out are what's below it, and the Casino above it.

We have the same problem. We nearly always get a balcony cabin but the itinerary we want on Journey to the Holy Land is extremely ambitious for our budget, but, it's a bucket list thing and so....we booked an inside triple for my husband and I plus our adult son. I hope we leave the ship still friends! Haha! Maybe we will receive a miraculous upgrade. One can always hope. And pray!

Hi, we have booked an outside cabin 7006 on the quest, there are only 2 of these cabins on this deck and they are forward, has anybody had one of these.

They are ocean view cabins but have the size of the balcony actually in the cabin so they are much larger.

We booked one earlier this year but got the chance to upgrade cheaply so we did but to be honest we wished we had stayed in 7007... The other one on that deck.

A friend had that cabin last year and loved it.

We were fortunate to be upgraded to 7004 for a Black Sea cruise. Really enjoyed the forward facing balcony which was especially beneficial transiting the Bosporus, Dardanelles, and arriving in the ports. The "down" side is that when the forward thruster is on and when the anchor is raised or lowered, it can rattle your teeth. That said, the noise is only for several seconds... Very quiet otherwise. The forward facing balcony is worth it.

Here was my review of 4034. The room is extremely large and I would certainly choose it again.

 

We had an inside room this time - 4034, which is wheelchair accessible, midships on deck 4. It was a huge room with a very large bathroom. The shower could fit 3-4 people standing, so no clingy shower curtain this time. The shower could be in the normal, overhead position, hand held or directed at waist level downwards. The basin could be raised or lowered to accommodate a wheelchair, so it was all very well equipped for wheelchair users. Due to its position, this room is great if the seas are rough. Very quiet with little motion, near to Guest Relations and the Medical Centre and one floor up to the Mosaics cafe, Discoveries Restaurant, shops and Cabaret lounge.

No problem at all with this cabin and would book it again. Even though it is under Windows Cafe we didn't hear any noise from above.

In the spirit of moving forward, I would like to offer to help with some information on this board and maybe if it works, Andy would be happy to make a sticky out of the thread

 

On the Celebrity board, there is a very useful spreadsheet kept up to date by one of the cruisers where others can search for information on a cabin. Here on Azamara, we have to try and search and trawl for information and I am offering to create and maintain with say forthnightly updates a similar spreadsheet.

 

For it to work, everyone has to post information in a consistent way and also only use the thread to post information, not to engage in debate (pop over to the Celebrity board if you want to see more on how it works)

 

For Azamara, I would suggest the information should be

We just returned from a Baltics cruise on the Quest. We got a GTY cabin and were given #6033. It was surely the smallest on the ship and extremely noisy. I will never get a GTY cabin again!

Hi, Aren't all ocean view cabins all the same size, How was it noisy Was it noise from other passengers.

No, not all ocean view cabins are the same. Ours was so small there was no room for a table or chair or sofa. When we had room service delivered the tray had to be put on the bed. Our cabin was tiny. The noise came from the elevator right outside our door as well as a public door under our cabin that slammed all day and into the late evenings with people going out to the prommonade.

Hi, thanks for replying, We had a choice of ocean view cabins on deck 6 and 7. We chose deck 7 forward as it was away from the lift, I'm a light sleeper and always take earplugs. Did you not ask if you could change cabins or was it full.

I requested a different cabin location several times and offered to pay for an upgrade, starting a month prior to embarkation however were told that the ship was full. Seemed odd to me that it was full because they continued to sell rooms in the same category right up to sailing date. We had to use earplugs every night.
