Azamara Cabins Thread

In the spirit of moving forward, I would like to offer to help with some information on this board and maybe if it works, Andy would be happy to make a sticky out of the thread

On the Celebrity board, there is a very useful spreadsheet kept up to date by one of the cruisers where others can search for information on a cabin. Here on Azamara, we have to try and search and trawl for information and I am offering to create and maintain with say forthnightly updates a similar spreadsheet.

For it to work, everyone has to post information in a consistent way and also only use the thread to post information, not to engage in debate (pop over to the Celebrity board if you want to see more on how it works)

For Azamara, I would suggest the information should be

Cabin Number

Ship

Month/Year sailed

Would you choose this room again Y/N

Is noise an issue Y/N

Balcony size Normal/Larger/Smaller

Any other comments (keeping these succinct so the spreadsheet does not grow too much)

How do others feel about this - if you think we do not need it here, please say, I will not be offended!!!!

YES! Support. We will be happy to contribute after our cruise.

Cabin Number: 8056

Ship: Quest

Month/Year: February 2018

Is noise an issue?: Nothing bothersome. There was some noise from the hallway during the day and from the pool deck chairs above. There was also the normal creaking sounds during rougher seas.

Balcony Size: Narrow (but I'm used to larger ships)

Any other comments: This cabin is close to the stairs and elevators and was a short walk to Windows, The Patio and the Pool Deck. I was impressed with the amount of storage in the cabin, but the bathroom was tight with shallow shelving and little space under the sink.

Cabin Number 6056- accessible Continental Club Suite

Ship: Quest

Feb 2018

I was offered this cabin as a free upgrade a week before the cruise (originally in 6022) and I would definately accept that deal again

Noise is not an issue despite being directly across from elevator, I only heard loud voices once

Balcony size Normal Continental Club size is 50% larger than regular balconys.

I was worried about two things accepting this upgrade

1) bathroom storage is very limited, so I purchased an over the door shoe holder ($5) that worked fine.

2) bathroom shower flooding. With the accesible shower there is only a small raised ridge on the floor containing the shower. I envisioned that the floor would flood with each shower, but that was not the case. I could use the mats for multiple showers, they only rarely got wet. In the regular cabin showers I always needed a new mat after each shower!

Yesterday we disembarked Azamara Journey in Hong Kong. We have been in cabin 8802 for the last 2 weeks. I would not recommend any of the cabins which were cut from the officers quarters. The walls between 8800 and 8802 were paper thin, so thin that the continual coughing all night and toilet flushing from the occupants in 8800 kept us awake. I am extremely disappointed. Take these cabins at your peril. I will be writing a full report once I return to Australia after Christmas. So watch this space!

Drats. I have this cabin sailing April 7th 2018.

I definitely support this (and am will to help as I have a LOT of spreadsheet experience, both with Excel & Google Docs/Spreadsheets).

I will also provide my cabin information upon returning from our 17-Jun-2018 Baltic/Russia cruise on the Journey.

Journey - 6088? Trouble finding information... Am I looking in the wrong place? Thank you in advance.

We were on Journey in suite 6088 about 2 years ago. We loved the suite. The only issue I can remember is that the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor whenever we used it. This was right after the refurb, so it may have been resolved by now.

Our last cruise was in a 7th deck owners suite and we observed soot on our balcony frequently. We had not noticed that in suite 6088. We have booked our next cruise on the 6th deck (6091).

We would gladly sail in this suite again.

I hope this helps. If you have specific questions about the suite, I would happy to help.

Thank you! We were on the Quest, Owner's Suite but on deck 8. Could not use the beautiful balcony because of the soot. Also quite a bit of noise from above, especially in the morning and evening. Hopefully the 6th floor will be better!

Cabin 6036

Ship Journey

Obstructed ocean view

Very quiet and good location

I would choose again if savings is significant, but only good for one person-very small for two

Cabins 6036 and 6039 are the least obstructed on deck 6 on every AZ ship as the cabin is in between lifeboats so there is alot of light and you can see out. Watch out for the crew cleaning or checking lifeboats, though!

I saved $4,000 by getting this cabin as a guarantee booking and so it was totally worth it.

I would like to wish everyone a great time on this cruise. I have decided to opt out at this time. One day, I hope to do this Alaska cruise, but for now, we've had to shelve it. Bon Voyage everyone!

Think you need to post this on the Roll Call thread for the Alaska cruise.

Cabin Number: 8042 (Club continent with a bath, at port side, bed facing forward)

Ship: Pursuit

Month/Year sailed August 2018 - Pursuit's Maiden Voyage

Would you choose this room again Yes - we wanted to have a room mid ship.

Is noise an issue No. We knew that being on deck 8 would incur some noise from the Pool deck. Aside from the White Night party - including preparation/clean up up ie scraping of deck chairs and tables, we didn't have any noise issues.

Balcony size: We liked it that the balcony had space for an additional chair.

Any other comments. 8042 is located under the port side "patio" area (ie the bit opposite the proper Patio) and 2 decks above (the end of) one of the lifeboats. We only had one tender port (and actually enjoyed watching the tender boat go out). It might be a (noise) issue for some itineraries with lots of tender ports.

Stateroom Number - 6057

Ship - Pursuit

Month/Year sailed - August 1, 2018 (Maiden voyage)

Would you choose this room again Y/N -Yes

Is noise an issue Y/N - No. None at all.

Balcony size Normal/Larger/Smaller - Normal.

Any other comments - Newly refurbished vessel. New furniture. The 'coffee' table that's in the centre of the room is large (perhaps too large). Move it towards the bedside wall - between the chair and bed. It frees up access to the balcony. Simply get the coffee table out of the middle of the room. Wish I moved it upon entering the room, not Day 3 when 'aha' hit. Great room. Enjoy.

Stateroom Number - 7061

Ship - Journey

Month/Year sailed - July 24th 2018

Would you choose this room again Y/N -Yes. Close to the Laundry on the other side of the ship

Is noise an issue Y/N - No. None at all.

Balcony size Normal/Larger/Smaller - Normal. Starboard side, As it is where the ship joins so there is a sold Metal sheet on one side giving complete privacy. Other side has a interconnecting glass door like all others.

Any other comments - The room is a good size but the shower area is not if you drop the soap you have to pull back the fabric(lets call it plastic screen curtain) and back out to pick it up. For a claimed luxury cruise ship I think this is not right. Should have been a shower screen door.

Cabin # 6019

Quest

November 2011

Choose Again? Y

Noise Issue? Y Occasionally, because it's above the theatre.

Balcony? Normal

Although there were sometimes sounds from the theatre, it was not a major problem even for my wife who is a light sleeper.

Just had that cabin from 8/11-19/18 and it was very quiet. Hate the small shower, but all else was fine.

Cabin #8026

Azamara Pursuit 28th to 30th August 2018

Choose again. Yes

Noise issue: none other than on White Night due to chairs being moved for setup. Didn’t notice anything after White Nights, probably due to Mr Tattinger!

Balcony: Pursuit has smaller oblong table leaving more room than on Quest and Journey, interconnecting doors on both sides are solid metal, not glass.

Room: fully refurbished, fridge is located under desk near balcony door. 1 three pin UK socket, 2 Euro, 2 US style sockets above desk.

Bathroom, same size as all veranda cabins, with shower curtain,

You can use the search function for this thread. Just put in the stateroom number and if there is a review it will come up.
