LIVE from Celebrity Silhouette, sailing April 7th!

Hello friends! Once again, it's time for a vacation at sea and I'll be doing my second LIVE review from the beautiful Celebrity Silhouette sailing this Sunday! This will include two days pre cruise in Fort Lauderdale as I have activities planned including what will sure to be some fantastic dinners planned with friends at Cafe de Paris and Bimini Boatyard and yes, I promise food porn for all! :D

 

For those of you not familiar with me, fellow CC member and friend Radio inspired me to do my first ever live review which took place aboard Oasis of the Seas last October. It turned out pretty well and I appreciate all that followed along. I know there are some improvements that I can try to make to this second live, which I will elaborate on later.

 

Three of the best Celebrity reviews on here that I have seen are Radio's live from Silhouette from last year, Librarylady19's review of Reflection, and Gambee's review in progress of his sailing aboard Silhouette. Librarylady has a fantastic spreadsheet on cabins on Celebrity ships and for those of you unsure which cabin to select, I highly recommend you check it out. It is very helpful.

For this sailing, after discussion with friends and seeing reviews, I decided to book Aqua Class. Not only will Celebrity be a first for me, but so will AQ class.

 

I am in 1648 which is towards the aft, on the Penthouse deck(11)

 

 

1648 is the second to last aqua colored cabin on the starboard side:

I look forward to your " Live from Celebrity Silhouette April 7th sailing ". I am Platinum on Princess and will be doing the southern Carib again in 2 weeks.

I have only gone on Princess but enjoy following other roll calls and live reporting. Chris, you did a marvelous job reporting on the Oasis of the Seas. You delivered a wonderful variety of what people would be interested in.

A number of cruisers I met 2 cruises ago are going on the Royal Nov. 10, 2013. ( Actually, a group will be on my ship again in 2 weeks ) I remember seeing your posts on that site but now I notice it isn't listed for your future cruises. Did you decide not to go on the Royal ? I like to read about experiences people have on other cruise lines but I haven't been tempted to change since I already have some nice perks on Princess.

Sali, good to see you again. I may or may not sail on the Royal. It's not a knock on Princess but I really like what RCCL has to offer and anxious to experience what Celebrity has to offer. I may decide to settle down with these two cruise lines and start building up cruises to get the perks

Chris, it will be interesting to read your thoughts about the RCCL and Celebrity and how they compare after you experience this cruise. Not matter what line you cruise, I always feel it is an opportunity to meet wonderful people who are so willing to share their experiences. I love to hear the positives but the negatives also help me avoid situations, unsafe places or disappointing tours.

I am smiling because you are starting your adventure and I know it will bring you to fun experiences and friends you haven't met yet.

I know that we've all received the email saying due to the sequestration(I won't really get into it other than I think it's a load of bull) they are asking people not to show up for boarding till 12pm

I have arrived at the hotel I will be staying at before flying out in the morning. The Radisson, which is only 2 miles from O'hare International. It's a very nice hotel:
