ardnassac79 Posted May 3, 2013 #201 Share Posted May 3, 2013 After a nap and a shower, we headed down to the EA Sports Bar for trivia (missed the video game challenge), and then it was time for the past guest party. We met up with Kim and Sean, an awesome couple we met earlier from our FB group, and went into the Party and enjoyed some Funships and Apps. Chris grabbed a drink to go, and we took it back to the room fridge and then headed to the casino to play some slots before dinner. We went a little early for dinner this night around 6:15, and there was no line, no wait for our regular table (when we left around 7:30 the line was really long to get to the hostess station). They had one of my favorite apps this night - the Tom Ka Gai soup, and Chris tried the potato soup. I ordered the comfort food option – Beef Stroganoff, and Chris had the Flank Steak. Chris enjoyed his steak – it was a thicker cut than he’d had before, and said it was very juicy. Unfortunately I did my best to like the Stroganoff, but ugh, it wasn’t nearly creamy/saucy enough for me. I decided instead of sending it back, I just ate less, and felt free to have dessert – bitter and blanc… I know this is a lot of people’s favorite, and I’ve had it before, but was never wowed by it. Again this time, I thought it was good, but I wished they would have let me keep the cream sauce to pour in after I made my way through the top, because then it was just bread, and not yummy vanilla saucy bread. Oh well, I ate the top off it, and stopped. It kept me from feeling like I needed to roll out of there. The rest of the night included some room drinks for me, Chris finished his stashed party drinks while we did a movie trivia, then hit the casino. There is this thing with Chris and I where whenever we are at the same casino table, or anywhere around him, he tends to get bad hands.. go figure the one time I left to make a drink he hit a nice hand… I decided to go to roulette and floated there for a while. We realized it was getting late, and someone may or may not have made to many drinks, so we went up so I could get some pizza, and Chris found the grill area opposite the pizza had “late night snacks” with some yummies like cookies, hot dogs, grilled ham and cheese, and in his words “a delicious buffalo chicken sandwich”. We ate, chugged down a few cups of water, and headed back to the room thankful that the next day in Grand Turk had a late arrival time. An Oliphant! funinthesun1964 Posted May 3, 2013 #202 Share Posted May 3, 2013 Hi, just wondering if you would post a pic of the Coach purse you bought? I'm not sure if I know which one that is? Of course, I could google it, but that wouldn't be as much fun as you "showing" it...;)
ardnassac79 Posted May 3, 2013 #203 Share Posted May 3, 2013 That's all for tonight... unfortunately we may not get to Grand Turk till this weekend... but it'll be worth the wait - by fortune's chance we were able to meet up with some friends that we have previously cruised with and have come to know as our 2nd family, and it was an excellent and heart-warming day in GT :D Last but not least, Fun Times... mrsd912 Posted May 3, 2013 #210 Share Posted May 3, 2013 Aww, thank you! We were in room 8450, and I think it's just this room and the other aft room on the 8th floor next to the wrap on the other side that has this size - these 2 are a little extra long due to the ship support beam on this floor. Congratulations on your marriage! Just a quick question, how'd you guys manage to book this cabin for two of you? I tried to book it for our Glory cruise next April, but the Carnival rep told me I couldn't because it sleeps three. Is there an insider tip that I'm missing? There is a Coach Factory store at Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, Maryland and they often have the coupon hand-outs, it's hit or miss but i have a few gems from that store. And now that Maryland Live! Casino is at the mall too it makes for a fun day; shop, eat, gamble.

I tried to book it for our Glory cruise next April, but the Carnival rep told me I couldn't because it sleeps three. Is there an insider tip that I'm missing? I'm stumped on this one. I never heard anything when doing my research on this room that it was for 3 people. There certainly was nothing special about the size of the room (same size as all our other balcony cabins). You might want to check online for the ship deck plans because I think it would say something if this were the case.

But Chris, it's a purse (and a mighty good looking one at that)! I just might have to drag Ron at the Coach Outlet on our way to lunch! :-) Joanne, who wishes that you & Cass would be on the Breeze May 25. I knew she would love to show the purse, so I asked her to see the photo! Women love to do "show and tell" on their finds -- and especially when ya find something that you've been wanting, AND at a great deal! What fun! It's definitely a female thing! :D
eriedearie Posted May 3, 2013 #218 Share Posted May 3, 2013 (edited) Congratulations on your marriage, wishing you a life time of love and happiness. Thanks so much for posting the pictures of the cemetery, it is beautiful. We are going on this cruise in June and this is the place in San Juan that I want to go to. I plan on using the free trolley too. I hate for your review to end, I know there is just a sea day left. Can you get any kind of beer in that 101 oz. tube? TrqoisWtrs Posted May 3, 2013 #219 Share Posted May 3, 2013 Always love your guys' reviews! That would be awesome! Sadly, no can do with vacation time... ps... they have men's stuff in there too! Hopefully it's a day they have sales! My recommendation is to look it up on google maps first to get a general idea of where it is so you aren't trudging in circles through the streets! nybumpkin Posted May 3, 2013 #221 Share Posted May 3, 2013 I want to stop for a moment and say I debated about putting some of these photos in the review, just because I didn’t want people to think we were “sightseeing” or being disrespectful by taking pictures. In fact it was the opposite. It was simply awe inspiring, the amount of care, detail, and love that was evident. The place definitely had an other-worldly feeling about it, and I definitely got the shivers a few times, but it is clear that religion and honoring those that have passed is very important to the culture here. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves... I think your pictures are fine. DH and I are into genealogy and I can tell you that photos are very helpful. And it is a beautiful cemetery; we walked by it on our 2006 cruise. Love your review, and wish you and Chris the happiest of marriages. (Next month DH and I celebrate 30 years!) Congrats on 30 years!!! I have no doubts that we'll hit that milestone some day (assuming our livers hold on that long :p). Going to try to get GT in today but it'll depend on how long it takes us to treat our deck. I hate doing it but it needs done. Ah the joys of owning a home. gapearl Posted May 5, 2013 #224 Share Posted May 5, 2013 I can honestly say the hardest part of this review was choosing just 6 pictures to post for St. Thomas sail away. I feel like there are about 50 more worthy of putting on here but I'll spare you (plus I just want to get this damn day done with at this point) So we had our burgers and went back up to Lido deck to do something we've been talking about for over a year.....the 101 oz tube of Thirsty Frog Red!!! We tried to pace ourselves but it's hard when 101 oz of delicous is just staring you in the face. I think we did a pretty good job as it took us over 2 hours to finish and we had a lot of interesting looks from other passengers. It certainly is a conversation starter. All gone WOWZA!!!! This is the first time I've ever seen or heard of this! Too bad I don't drink beer. Great info on the Coach store. I've passed by there but never gone in. I'm in San Juan all the time thanks to work, so next time I'm there, I might go buy something!
Kethry88 Posted May 5, 2013 #225 Share Posted May 5, 2013 Congratulations on your marriage!Just a quick question, how'd you guys manage to book this cabin for two of you? I tried to book it for our Glory cruise next April, but the Carnival rep told me I couldn't because it sleeps three. Is there an insider tip that I'm missing? Looking at the deck plans show that this is a 3-person cabin on Glory, and on Liberty, it is only a 2-person cabin. Glory has about half her aft-view blaconies as 3-person on each deck, while Liberty only has four 3-person on deck 6.
