the haven questions

Hi all! This issue has come up on the boards several times, and I just want to add my feeling that I love the idea that guests can visit friend or family Haven cruisers in their cabins, but that it is not fair for those guests to visit and use the Haven facilities.

 

In an airplane, an economy passenger can 'visit' their friend/relative sitting in first class for a short time (usually ONLY standing in the aisle), but they are not allowed to take a seat that is unoccupied and utilize the perks that the others have paid for.

 

I think this is the same for the Haven. If a Haven passenger has friends/family sailing in rooms outside of the Haven category, invite them to the cabin only and not the Haven complex. People pay a lot more money for the use of those facilities and it's simply not fair for other passengers to be able to use the facility without having paid for the perk.

 

Honestly, this whole discussion makes me a little confused because the rules are clear.:confused:

 

And as Shaun07 posted earlier that she's looking for someone to give her the ok to "break the rules".

From the original question, it could have passed as just not knowing,but with the second question, it is clear that is what she is looking for. Validation.

Very interesting posts. I will take my first cruise ever, traveling with my 25 year old daughter on NCL Jade and we are in a Haven Room. I agree that the decision to spend as much as I did on the cabin was made, partially, because of the ability to "get away from it all". I would be really upset if the private areas were packed with people. I think that the first class analogy was spot on.

Ethics and Etiquette will prevail in such situations as the uninvited guest to a party is allowed to be ejected by the Hostess by any means necessary.

 

I travel with my wife who enjoys the adult quiet settings without fellow travelers inflicting their "loutish guests and relatives" upon us in restricted areas. I feel sympathy for those not allowed use of First Class facilities but I hold not truck with Gate Crashers.

 

Ethics and Manners compel me remain outwardly calm during such intrusions so as to not spoil the party for proper guests. This does not mean that I will not take action such as taking the appropriate crew member and managers to task for not doing their proper job and duty to Haven passengers. If the ship's company is not doing their job there will be consequences for the Ship's Hotel Manager ears.

 

Now as to fellow passengers who would have the effrontery to cause disharmony within the Haven, as a quiet, secluded, private passenger space, by ignoring the rules of The Haven or by trying to bully the crew to acquiesce to allowing freeloaders in the The Haven then shame on you.

I was not intending my sister to go swim in the haven area. I just wanted her to babysit my kids when my husband and i want to do a show or escort the kids to the room after meals.

Everyone feels they need to point out the issues as some people (not you of course) do not understand.

OK, so here's a question. As a passenger, how would you know if someone was a Haven guest or not? I can understand that crew members might know, but I wouldn't, so how could I complain about someone in the Haven if I didn't know whether or not they were a booked Haven guest.

 

When we've been in the Haven, we would see some people every day. Other times we'd see people that we'd never seen in there before. Unless I heard them talking, I would have no way of knowing if they were Haven guests.

 

People have talked on this thread about reporting to crew or management about people bringing family members in non-Haven suites into the Haven, but how do you know who is supposed to be there.

 

One time I saw someone in the Haven I hadn't seen before and mentioned to my husband that I bet they had been snuck in by someone only to find that they were Garden Villa guests who just hadn't used the Haven area before. Boy, would I have been embarrassed if I had said something!
