UNV-IT!!! Posted June 19, 2013 #327 Share Posted June 19, 2013 From a Huffington Post article:"North Star features a glass pod at the end of a mechanical arm that extends from the top deck. The 14-passenger North Star will offer guests 360-degree views from 300 feet above the ocean. On the Sports Deck aft will be the two-story vertical wind tunnel which will be home to RipCord by iFly. The skydiving is a safe, controlled, and simulated environment that allows passengers to hover in the air just like a real skydiver. The line says both experiences are complimentary to all passengers." CTRussxiii Posted June 19, 2013 #330 Share Posted June 19, 2013 They allow time scheduling for individual coaching on the flow riders. Granted that comes at a price, maybe in the future they will offer something similar for Ripcord. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

swim13 Posted June 19, 2013 #332 Share Posted June 19, 2013 They should replace Sorrento's with UNO's Chicago Bar & Grill or have UNO's share their recipes with Sorrento's because they have some bangin' pizza's! :D I keep wanting popular food places on here but then again isn't cruising about getting away from that? They could still put at least an UNO's on, lol (anyone ever have the deep dish cookie?!)! I would love to see Panera Bread even help out the Park Cafe with some of their options, I love that place so much!! I hope we will be able to reserve Ripcord by iFly before the cruise because there is most likely going to be many people wanting to do this and even do it multiple times. I wonder if they will have it open while docked at a port?

shaun07 Posted June 19, 2013 Author #335 Share Posted June 19, 2013 it would be nice if they leave those lounge chairs at the very aft. Nice place to sit and enjoy the view. Also i am glad they put a cover on those flowrider bleachers and the you can see the ifly from there. I could spend some time there watching people on the flowrider wipeout thinking I can do better then them and then spending the rest of my vacation on a scooter with a broken leg. FOOLrider !! tls1012 Posted June 19, 2013 #341 Share Posted June 19, 2013 Just to circle back to the 3G thing. Anyone have any idea what a 100mb means in hours of internet terms? Also I think if people use these sort of plans it my relieve some of the traffic on the ships wifi and make it faster. I read on the main board that allure offers an unlimited wifi package. Anyone have any info on this? Call me old fashion but computers and phones are the last thing I want to have access to on a cruise, but that's me. I remember seeing your post on another Q thread started by Booze Brothers - Host Corkey I know that Polly has already joined the thread, she's Jewelinthesand. I am actually scheduled to sail on QOS Dec, 12, 2014 for the 8 Night Bahamas. But would like to reschedule to June 2015 once the schedule is announced. I am not thrilled with the Bahamas itinerary and it may work out better with my DD graduating from college that May.

Tyron Posted June 19, 2013 #347 Share Posted June 19, 2013 Martinique Set to Welcome Quantum of the Seas on 14 June 2013. The Martinique Tourism Authority has announced that Martinique has been chosen as a port-of-call for the inaugural 2014 season of Royal Caribbean’s new vessel, the Quantum of the Seas. “Quantum of the Seas is a wonderful addition to next year’s winter cruise season. We are thrilled to welcome one of the largest ships of the world and show its guests all that Martinique has to offer,” said Karine Roy-Camille, Martinique’s Tourism Commissioner. Martinique has worked very hard to make great strides in the cruise industry and bring in new lines. Pointe Simon cruise terminal has been expanded and it can now welcome even the largest cruise vessels in the world. Cruise business has been steadily increasing, and Royal Caribbean’s announcement shows that cruise tourists want to experience not only the beauty of Martinique but also its unique French and Creole culture. Royal Caribbean has increased its number of port-of-calls from last season to this season and plans to continue to increase its number of calls in the coming years. Quantum of the Seas will call in the heart of downtown Fort-de-France, Martinique’s capital city, lauded as one of the most beautiful bays in the world. When it comes to European shopping, Fort-de-France is the place to visit. Fort-de-France also boasts many historical monuments, a lovely promenade called the Malecon, local markets and superb cuisine. Local tour operators offer active and interactive excursions to experience the many wonders and activities of the island and discover why Martinique is so Magnifique! UNV-IT!!! Posted June 19, 2013 #348 Share Posted June 19, 2013 I don't want to see any major chain restaurants I.e. Johnny rockets and such. I can easily get those at home. Or something very close. For those major rccl cruises I vote for sea view cafe from the radiance class.

For those major rccl cruises I vote for sea view cafe from the radiance class. Concur on the no land-based chain please sentiment. RCI has developed some wonderful and excellent venues by partnering with culinary experts. I love Giovanni's table and will swear to my last breath that 150 CP can rival almost any land-based "signature" restaurant. More like those and perhaps a couple of new sit down/table service casual Dining venues. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
