Rare steve4031 Posted June 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2013 How does one do that? Can I set it up once onboard? Thx Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
Bobbyjean Posted June 27, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 27, 2013 I would like to know this too, as I don't want it to be there when we arrive - but a few days later. I would imagine you just go to the customer service desk, that's what I am planning to do. :)
chocolate melting cake Posted June 27, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 27, 2013 There is a small "store" onboard, I think it is now called Life Is Sweet. The desk would just send you there. They could take your order and will deliver it to your room or dining table at a specified date and time. However, you could also do it before boarding 2 other ways. 1. Go to Carnival(dot)com and on the bottom under ALREADY BOOKED select THE FUN SHOPS choose FOOD AND DESERTS choose CAKES and I think they have a screen to choose time and place of delivery. 2. Call Carnival (this is what I did) and explain what you want (make sure you have your booking # and your cabin and dining time). They brought the cake to our table the night of our anniversary---although I will admit that I did check the arrangements when onboard.
Rare steve4031 Posted June 27, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted June 27, 2013 Thanks. This would be for embarkation day and dinner. We leave on 6/29/13 so I think it's too late to call carnival. Hopefully that shop will be open. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
bigcraig Posted June 27, 2013 #5 Share Posted June 27, 2013 We bought the chocolate sugar free bd cake on board and they delivered it to the table on my wifes bd, it was really good.
cynthe66 Posted June 27, 2013 #6 Share Posted June 27, 2013 My experience I'd do it onboard. There you can have them write what you want on it and have delivered on a certain date and place (ie MDR or cabin).

Hopefully that shop will be open. the candy store is where you want to head when you first board on your cruise-- this used to be formalities. This is where you want to order your cake for the first nights dinner. It might be too late to order online for your cruise as it usually closes 3 days prior. Rare steve4031 Posted June 27, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted June 27, 2013 Ok. Thanks. You all bailed me out from being a dumb ass. She said she didn't want a cake, but I I know differently. So thx to you all this trap has been avoided. We have fttf so we get on early. I'll just go "check on something" and get it done. . Pookeybear1966 Posted June 27, 2013 #9 Share Posted June 27, 2013 We ordered s cake for Father's Day on last cruise beginning of June. I ordered it online via Bon voyage section and indicated on order what day to have it. They sang to him and delivered it to our table in mdr the day I requested

mom of 3 boys Posted June 27, 2013 #11 Share Posted June 27, 2013 Yes, call Bon Voyage and they will have it. My parents cruised in February for their Anniversary. I called the day they were boarding and ordered a cake and wine and it was delivered the next night. If you ordered today, you wouldn't have to worry. The rep. that I spoke with said they like a days notice. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
chocolate melting cake Posted June 27, 2013 #12 Share Posted June 27, 2013 I'd agree with those urging you to call the order in. The problem you'd have is the "candy store" usually is closed while the ship is docked----you might not have a chance to order it before dinner. lovecarnivalcruises Posted June 27, 2013 #15 Share Posted June 27, 2013 I order a birthday cake for my daughter last year online. Put in the date I wanted them to bring it to the table in the MDR. It was the vanilla cake with strawberry filling and was sooooo good. They sang Happy Birthday, she loved it and was totally surprised.

thistoo Posted July 3, 2013 #17 Share Posted July 3, 2013 Does anyone know how this works for anytime dining? We're cruising for my father's birthday in December, and early dining was already full when we booked. My dad HATES eating late, so I know he'll be one of the first in line for dinner every night. I'd love to have a birthday cake delivered to the dining room on the day, but is that possible with anytime dining, or do I have to have it delivered to the cabin? Not the end of the world, but it's more fun to make a fuss in public.

When you order it online you tell them on what day of the cruise (day 1..) & where (cabin or dining room), when you check in for dinner the hostess will remind you that they will be delivering it during dinner. No worries. Happy Sailing!!! Sent from my KFOT using Tapatalk
CruiseVille Posted July 3, 2013 #19 Share Posted July 3, 2013 Once you get on the ship....Go to the Formalities/Candy store to order cake.....That way you can have a CUSTOMIZED message put on the cake. (and won't have to settle for the standard ..."Happy Birthday" message written on the cake.)

Feelin' Nauti' Posted August 3, 2013 #22 Share Posted August 3, 2013 I can't believe you have to "buy" a cake on Carnival if you want to celebrate an anniversary or birthday on board. On Princess, you tell the head waiter you are celebrating a special occasion. and they will bring out the appropriate cake and sing. There's no charge for the personal celebration cake served.

Elaine5715 Posted August 4, 2013 #25 Share Posted August 4, 2013 As the old saying goes - You get what you pay for ;) I am okay with not paying extra $$$ so folks can celebrate their "birthday", "anniversary" "half birthday", "half Anniversary", "quarter birthday", "quarter anniversary", etc..because who would fib about their birthday? Wondered if you can get a button, too?;)
