Dr. Pam Posted July 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2013 We are on the 10 day countdown until we fly out to Venice for a couple days prior to boarding the Royal. We obviously will be excited to board this new ship ASAP after exploring Venice for the second time. Question: Was anyone able to board earlier than the 2:00 posted time? We have to be out of our hotel by 11:00Am and we would love to head over to the port, drop our luggage, quick exploration of the ship and then head back into Venice. I realize there is a posted embarkation time, but have read on Princess forums that the boarding process seems to be much earlier than stated? Thanks! paul929207 Posted July 16, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2013 Princess usually starts boarding 11:30am to noon, if there are no holdups.
Dr. Pam Posted July 16, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted July 16, 2013 Thank you! 11:30-12:00 would be perfect....but not a guarantee... :) Am I also correct in my past reading of Princess threads, that rooms are available as soon as you board the ship. 2002 was the last time I sailed Princess (Golden). Pam in CA Posted July 16, 2013 #6 Share Posted July 16, 2013 Yes, Princess always has the cabins ready when boarding begins.Correct. Your cabin will be ready so you can drop your things off and head out to explore. I would suggest putting valuables in the safe first.
Dr. Pam Posted July 16, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted July 16, 2013 Thank you for everyone's knowledge. We are very excited for this cruise...... :) I am hoping that the suite experience does not fall short of the outstanding "sweet" experience that we have experienced on RCCL but not so much on Celebrity. I will be sure to write a full review when we return.
