Sunset Beach Question

After looking at their website, a few questions about Sunset Beach in Jamaica:

1) How does one get there? Taxi? Any specific (ie: American-safe) taxi?

2) How does one get the $20/person all-inclusive thing? Go to the front desk?

TIA! ;)

We were there just a few months ago and loved the place. I had heard so many negative things about Montego Bay Jamaica that I was shocked at how upscale this place was. Normally a taxi ride is $4 per person, but the fare for Sunset Beach Resort from the ship is only $5 per car load. Our family of 4 just cost $5 to get there. Just be sure to use the Gov't approved JUTA taxi's that have a red license plate. These guys are very polite and honest. They all know where Sunset is.;)

Just go to the front desk and show them your cruise ID and ask for the all-inclusive day pass for cruisers. Locals have to pay $48 per day which is much more than the cost for cruisers which is $20 for adults and $10 for kids. Once you get in it's all paid for including food, restaurants, alcohol, sodas, all watersports, 3 swimming pools, 3 beaches, etc.:D

Oh, by the way, be sure and drink a "hummingbird" for me. It's like a banana milk shake with a kick. You don't realize how strong they are until you stand up.

We just got off the Conquest and we went to Sunset Beach! There were 14 in our group. The taxi people are really nice. They took us for $2 a person since there were so many of us. It is like a 5 minute ride (if that).

There is a security guard out front that will walk everyone in at the same time. You go to the front desk give them your name and your S&S card. Give them your $20 and you're set.

The food is pretty good. Their grilled cheese sandwishes & french fries were really good. And of course, the drinks. Everyone is supper nice. The swim up bar staff was really fun to be around, they really take care of you.

Everyone in our group had a great time and was so glad we went. Wouldn't change a thing.

When you leave, you walk to the security gate and give them your receipt and they will give you your S&S card back. Don't go to the front desk. When we were there, it was packed with people trying to check out.

Hope you have fun! It's well worth it! ;)
