Noted Triumph still in port last night until around 7:30/8:00. Note on the Galveston page from someone indicated they had failed a cost guard inspection....See they are gone this morning. Anyone know what really happened and if it was a failed inspection what did they fail??

We disembarked yesterday. On Sunday morning the captain and cruise director both announced over the intercom around 8:30 AM that in the early hours of Sunday morning they had a crew member pass away. It seems he had a medical emergency and the decision was made to turn around to take him back to Cozumel to the hospital however before they could get there and despite the valiant efforts of the medical staff, he sadly passed away. As a result the Triumph did not come back into port until around 1:30 PM on Monday, 7/29. We did self assist so we were able to get off the ship more quickly and we didn't get off until nearly 3PM for deck 8. After self assist they would then have to process all of those who had checked bags etc so I'm sure that it took a while to allow the next group to board.

I would imagine it was still in port as the wonderful crew worked very hard to flip the ship for the next set of passengers. I must commend the crew. They were clearly very shook by the situation and still were incredibly professional and tried so hard. They created an entertainment itinerary of activities for the guests on Monday until 2 PM and kept the MDR and all of the food stations open for both breakfast and lunch. They handled thing with great professionalism. It was heartbreaking though to know that under their smiles many were mourning a friend and crewmate.
