BostonGirl88 Posted August 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2013 Hello, I am planning to book NCL Pearl to Alaska next year, with a balcony room, which side of the ship is the best when cruising into Glacier Bay? Thank you.
Rare Essiesmom Posted August 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2013 It will not matter at all. The ship will cruise in slowly, hover for awhile, turn 180 degrees, hover for awhile, cruise back out slowly. But if you are interesting in watching for calving at Margerie glacier (in Glacier Bay) you will want to be on deck, as it might happen while your side of the ship is not facing the glacier. nursebob Posted September 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2013 We were on the Pearl last year to Alaska, if you can afford it the best location is on the private deck in the Haven you won't regret it. When we went there were only a hand full of people out there it wasn't crowded and you get spectacular views.:)
tenmile Posted October 21, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 21, 2013 We were on the Pearl to Alaska 4 years ago, and it seemed the cabins on the starboard side were closer to the shoreline. Our friends had starboard balconies on Deck 10 and we had an aft ship balcony (back of ship) and they really had better views than we did.
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 21, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 21, 2013 The best views of Glacier Bay will be on the open deck so that you can view the Glaciers from various vantage points. The ship will be moving around and you will want to be able to move from side to side. Keith
