Fred. Olsen/Commodore "Bolero"

Recommended Posts

I thought I asked this before, but Search revealed nothing. Is the Bolero still around in some incarnation or other? I don't mean the NCL Starward/Bolero; I mean Fred. Olsen's Bolero that sailed for Commodore and "Floating Fleet" from 1973 (thru about 1979?). Last time I saw her she docked briefly in Tampa around 1997 after having operated on a ferry route in Colombia.

Hello there!

She was docked in Tampa from Feb to May 1998. She was then taken to Fredericia, Norway for lay-up until Feb 1999 when sold to Caspi Shipping, Haifa, Israel and was renamed MAGIC I. In May 1999 refitted at Eleusis, Greece and in 2000 started cruises out of Haifa for Magic Cruise Lines. In March 2003 chartered to Ocean Club Cruises, USA for two-day cruises from Port Canaveral to Key West via Bahamas and renamed MIRAGE. In January 2004 she was laid up in Cape Canaveral and in March 2004 was sold to Isramco Inc, Nassau, still laid up and renamed MIRAGE I. Apparently she's still there today.
