mistik Posted July 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2005 Hello: Will be staying 3 days post-cruise in Lisbon. Am interested in Lisbon hotels (3-4 star category), close to major sights, restaurants and metro. I am traveling solo, so need generally safe area. I've done research but interested in hotels you've actually stayed at and recommend. Any recommendations would be appreciated. -mistik
ClaudiaF Posted July 2, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 2, 2005 We have stayed at the Ritz Hotel Lisbon which may be pricier than you want ( great hotel and location) and also Tivoli Lisboa which is also great location and a wonderful hotel. http://*****.com/9wvr9

Judyumcer@aol.com Posted July 3, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 3, 2005 My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights post cruise. The location is excellent! The hotel is very old but in good shape. It is an elegant old place. The staff was not very friendly or helpful. I didn't like the fact that the hallways were dark and a light didn't go on until a motion sensor detected. The breakfast was ok servd in an elegant old diningroom. I thought this place was a little creepy and would not stay there again. But, again, the location was excellent. mistik Posted July 7, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted July 7, 2005 Thanks Judy - I will stay away from that hotel! -------------- I like modern and new hotels. Has anyone stayed at any of these hotels? - AC Palacio Sottomayor - NH Liberdade Thanks in advance, -mistik
chesley123 Posted July 7, 2005 #6 Share Posted July 7, 2005 We stayed at the Le Meridien last year before our Regatta cruise. Great location for walking, directly across from the park (very safe) and about 15 mins. from the port. It is beside the Ritz that I thought looked to be overpriced. Great rooms, great breakfast buffet as well...
garykool81 Posted July 7, 2005 #7 Share Posted July 7, 2005 I've actually just booked (via Priceline) the Lisbon Marriott last night for only $55(US)/night. It's a 4-star, but not located in the middle of town. It is within walking distance of the subway, some art museums and the zoo, though....so you still have easy access to everything. Betty Lu Posted July 7, 2005 #8 Share Posted July 7, 2005 We stayed at the Lisboa Plaza this past May and it was wonderful. The address is Travessa do Salitre7, web-site is http://www.heritage.pt. The staff was very helpful and it's in a great location.
