sl0905 Posted August 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2013 We have not been able to cruise for 9 years due to kids in college, job loss etc. We are going on the Independence in December and I am curious what other cruisers think the biggest changes have been. The Mariner was the largest ship we have been on and My Time Dining didn't exist.
Clarea Posted August 27, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2013 Some differences that come to mind: No midnight buffet No chocolates on the bed at night No ice in the stateroom unless you ask Gratuities automatically charged daily to your on board account Pool towels need to be checked out and a $25 charge per towel if you don't check them in. No price drops after final payment date No bathroom amenities unless you are in a JS or better (except for bars of soap and shampoo/conditioner dispenser in the shower) Room service charge of $3.95 per order between midnight and 5am Two bottles of wine per stateroom can be brought on board at initial embarkation only
