SHIP: Constellation, Dec. 2015

CABIN #: 7193

DECK #: 7

CLASS: Concierge C3

AREA: Aft, port side

QUIET?: Yes, very. Cabins above and below, no inside cabin opposite. If there was crew/staff activity nearby, we didn't hear it.

BALCONY VIEW: Good except straight down. The suite below on Deck 6 (with canvas awning) extends beyond Deck 7 and blocks the view of the ocean. We couldn't see the pilot jumping to/from his boat, or anything happening on the pier when we were docked.

BALCONY SIZE: Standard for class

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Convenient location, a few doors aft of the aft elevators. Handy for buffet (which we ate at most of the time).

Sorry, should have posted before now!

Ship: Constellation

CABIN #: 6109

DECK #: 6

CLASS: 2B accessible veranda

AREA: Midship

BED NEAR: Centre of room. "Sofabed" near window*

QUIET?: Very. Occasional door slamming/neighbours' toilet flushing.

BALCONY VIEW: Great. Glass lift shaft towards front. Lifeboats below.

BALCONY SIZE: Standard - slightly wider than non accessible cabins.

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Lifeboats/winch directly below so when being used for tendering there were crew just below the balcony. No noise from winch though. Occasional toilet flushing from neighbour. One night the cabin above us was incredibly noisy with children jumping on and off the bed and running around.

*This cabin was (and possibly still is) marked on deck plans as having a convertible sofa bed for a 3rd person. I double checked this with Celebrity on the phone when booking as we have a tall teenage daughter.

However. Although there was a sofa in the cabin, between the bed and the balcony, at turndown we realised that this was NOT a sofabed and the third bed was a child's trundle bed, placed between the foot of our bed and the desk/vanity area. Not only was the bed child-length and too short for our daughter, where it was placed rendered the room completely INACCESSIBLE! I couldn't get past the bed at all because there was no room between the end of our bed, the rollaway bed and the desk.

After much discussion with officers, our sofa was replaced with an armchair (moved next to our bed) and the trundle bed placed next to the vanity desk and next to/parallel with the balcony doors. It wasn't ideal but it at least meant that the room was accessible and I was able to navigate it during the evening and night, not just during the day.

So if there are more than two of you in an accessible cabin, get the Celebrity sales agent to actually check with an officer ON BOARD that the "Convertible Sofabed" on the deck plan IS a sofabed and not a rollaway rendering the room impossible to get around. :) Don't trust the deckplans!

Other than that, no noise from elevators and ideally placed midships. A great location. I would definitely book the same cabin again (but only for 2 people ;))

Ship : Infinity

Cabin #: 1118

Deck #: 11

Class: Aqua A1

Area: Aft

Bed near: Bath

Quiet?: Yes *

Balcony view: Good, wide open. Only a small overhang so plenty of sun.

Balcony size: Standard**

Wind: No

Soot: No

Cabin is in a very convenient location on Deck 11, just above the Oceanview Cafe and Bar. Straight down the stairs or elevator to Blu.

* This area of the ship was an oasis of peace and quiet over the 2015 Christmas/New Year cruise. The Rooftop Terrace was not fully completed for this cruise. Since it was quite cold and windy, the Terrace was not used much, the noise may be a different story on a different cruise.

** We have been in 1118 on the Millennium and the Constellation. On both those ships 1118 has a slightly larger balcony than other A1s on 11. It was a surprise to us that the balcony for 1118 on the Infinity was smaller than on those other ships. On Infinity it looked like 1101 would have a larger balcony than other A1s.

Ship : Infinity

Cabin #: 8076

Deck #: 8 Starboard side.

Class: Concierge C2

Area: Midship

Bed near: Central

Quiet?: Yes. Very quiet.

Balcony view: Good, wide open. Fully covered.

Balcony size: Standard

Wind: No

Soot: No

Great location midship about halfway between both sets of elevators. Not much noticeable motion even on larger seas. Extremely quiet. Plenty of cupboard space. Suitcases easily store under the bed. Excellent shower head - we had the whole shower head and taps replaced after a couple of days due to water temperature fluctuation. Plumber installed a whole new set. So good - pressure and heat fully adjustable.

Summit Cabin 7154 category 2A

Quiet

Between midship and aft elevators....very convenient for MDR and Buffet.

Bed near bathroom with headboard on the stern wall.

Veranda is standard size with 2 chairs and a small table. no foot rests.

Cabin attendants were excellent. Everything was clean. Anything requested was promptly supplied.

Ship is going into dry dock soon. Hope the dry dock includes cabin maintenance. Cabin is showing some wear. Carpeting has a hole, no tie rack in closet, rust patch in bathroom near the shower, sliding glass door is hard to move and latch. Beds could use new mattresses.

Ship:Infinity

Cabin: 1130

Category: Aqua

Location Aft. Above Oceanview bar.

Deck:11

Bed near: Bathroom

Quiet? Yes, mostly, but see notes.

View? Aft. Obstructed to left by new staircase to rooftop terrace.

Balcony: larger than normal.

Wind? No, sheltered mostly.

Soot? No

This used to be my favourite cabin, despite being on the end of the aft Aqua cabins. Now people descending the new staircase to the rooftop terrace, which is placed next to this cabin, are practically stepping onto the balcony, and can peer round to the balcony. Could hear the movies above when in port, often conflicting with music from the Oceanview cafe below. Will sadly not book aft Aqua again.

CABIN #: 9038

DECK #: 9 (SUMMIT)

CLASS: Aqua

AREA: Forward

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Some noise from solarium above/towel cart rolling/some chair movement

BALCONY VIEW: Good

BALCONY SIZE: Larger

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Larger balcony as it's on the forward part of the ship that "juts" out. The window washing equipment is located outside the balcony to the right - so looking right and in pics it is visible/quite large. It did not really detract from our enjoyment of the larger balcony however.

There are lots of questions about where the window washing equipment is located.

It is my understanding that it used to be "parked" midship near 8115 area cabins, A google search for obstructed balconies due to the window washer will yield many returns with info stating as such. However, this was a guarantee cabin on the Summit and once the # was assigned I realized that the equipment was actually moved to a more forward location and is parked outside of cabin 9040 starboard and 9045 port (and subsequently, the cabins below on deck 8). If you do a google search of exterior ship shots, you will see it parked midship (around 8115) and also parked forward (just before the ship juts out). I imagine that the midship cabins can garner higher rates, so they moved it to a less desirable location.

Sky suite, quiet, balcony view of the crane used to lift the lifeboats and when you look down you also see the barrels with the emergency life boats in, if you are in port, you can not look down and see the dock.

Hi all,

Maybe it's because I'm using a Mac or that my Acrobat Reader is incompatible, but when I go to post #130 to see the cabin descriptions all I get is numbers. No information at all. Is it supposed to look like the "S" class spreadsheet? If so, no joy for me. Any thoughts?

Thanks

CABIN #: 9111

DECK #: 9 (Constellation)

CLASS: Skysuite

AREA: Midship. Great access to elevators and stairs.

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Some noise from pool area above (towel cart rolling) or subtle rhythms from music on the nights when there is a pool party, but not bothersome.

BALCONY VIEW: Good. Overhang from pool deck above provides complete shade.

BALCONY SIZE: Average. Three chairs and a table.

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

STORAGE: Plenty. Cabinets on both sides of the desk, cabinets under the television, six small drawers in the closet. About 24 wooden clothes hangers. Cabinets under the bathroom sink, shelves behind the bathroom doors. We took enough clothes for a 9 night cruise and had enough storage.

OTHER AMENITIES: Bulgaria toiletries. Hand held hairdryer (works great). Portable make up mirror. Two US and two international electrical outlets.

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: This cabin is two doors down from the iLounge. We didn't know if it was proximity to the iLounge, or the pool are above, but wi-if connectivity was very good. On board wi-if was not yet upgraded as of Feb 2916, so service is slow, but this cabin location provided great connectivity. We loved this cabin and would choose it again.

CABIN #: 8168

DECK #: 8 (Constellation)

CLASS: FV-Family View Veranda

AREA: Aft facing

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Very quiet even when docking in the AM

BALCONY VIEW: Aft-facing, with a little side view

BALCONY SIZE: Huge - 2 tables, 4 chairs and 2 footstools and there was still room for lots more. About half the veranda is covered and half open. People above can look down on the open part but only from deck 9; we could just see our railing from the Oceanview Cafe on deck 10. This is an amazing veranda!

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

STORAGE: Plenty. Large cabinets under the desk, 2 more multi-drawer cabinets in the separate sitting room, six small drawers in the closet, another cabinet in the "curio display case" in the entryway, big closet with lots of hangers, cabinets under the bathroom sink. This cabin is meant for families and there would be ample room for 4 people - for 2 people we had loads of empty space.

OTHER AMENITIES: This cabin had a large pull-out sofa bed and a second smaller loveseat with an oval table in between. Sitting area is separated from the bed/bath by a partition and sliding door. The entry door faces the starboard side of the ship but then there's a 90 degree turn aft. There is an amazing amount of space - it's a suite without the suite price or butler.

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: This is the cabin next to the corner cabin. The corner has an even larger veranda but has less privacy, and if it's windy or rainy, less shelter. The cabin on the other side is a Concierge Class cabin, at a higher price point. Because it wasn't overly warm on our cruise, we definitely loved having the extra protection from the wind. This was an outstanding cabin, good access to the public areas from the aft stairwell and very quiet. LOVED it!

CABIN #: 6120 Millennium

DECK #: 6

CLASS: Sky Suite S2

AREA: Midship

BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET?: Very, never heard a sound even when docking nor from corridor

BALCONY VIEW: I think this is considered as a obscured view but we were not impacted (we looked down to the lifeboats below)

BALCONY SIZE: Average

WIND A PROBLEM?: No, but maybe route specific

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:Very nice cabin and well maintained. Walk in (ish) closet was major unexpected plus. Cabin kept very clean. Bed very comfortable. Bulgari amenities in bathroom. Fresh fruit every day (as we ate it, rather than it just being being changed). Room service fast, food hot and order accurate. Afternoon tea in the cabin is a bit of a joke to an Englishman though, but no different to what you would see in the USA. At least the milk was cold rather than hot which I have often seen. We only ordered it once. Everything worked in the cabin and never had drain/water pressure/water temperature issues which seem to affect some.

CABIN #: 1117 and 1119 on Summit

DECK #: 11

CLASS: A1

AREA:

BED NEAR: closet

QUIET?: whenever the Rooftop Terrace is turned off

BALCONY VIEW: starboard

BALCONY SIZE: slightly larger due to bump out

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:

Before the recent drydock addition of the Rooftop Terrace, I would have said this was a perfect location for cabins. Now, however, there is constant sound from the screen above (even when there are no movies or people, they are playing Celebrity commercials) and people walking around.
