Nothin' But Sun Posted July 8, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2005 and a Superior Oceanview. We have a balcony on Voyager and it is referred to as a Deluxe Oceanview, not balcony on the RCI boarding page! I realize the superior is bigger but why is it called a Deluxe not a balcony which we have?

RiverRev Posted July 8, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 8, 2005 It's a similar idea to selling a "Medium" of anything. No one wants a medium. Check the menus at your favorite fast food restaurant and you'll see their sizes are small, large and extra large. The word "deluxe" means the cabin is what you would expect of the ship line's quality, not the room's quality over another such balcony cabin on the ship or on the cruise line. ACCagent Posted July 8, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 8, 2005 Royal lists theirs balcony cabins as "Superior Ocean View with balcony" and Deluxe oceanview with balcony". This is just to differentiate between the 2 sizes. The Superiors (D's) are approx. 188 sf and the Deluxe (E's) are approximately 173 sf.
Honey's Gal Posted July 8, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 8, 2005 On the Voyager class ships, the Superior Ocean View is 202 sq ft with a 50 sq ft balcony. The Deluxe is 173 sq ft and a 47sq ft balcony. The Deluxe cabins do have balconies, but don't know how it is listed
LBB Posted July 8, 2005 #6 Share Posted July 8, 2005 I recently hada Superior on the Voyager and it was definitely larger than I expected. Not huge, by any means, but a good size for two people. I think the extra room between deluxe and superior definitely makes a difference.
