emt6121 Posted October 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2013 I just went on Carnival's site to start purchasing fun ship dollars, which are apparently now called Cruise cash. I noticed though that it say's any unused credit's are non refundable. Is this a new rule? I know for our past 3 cruise's, any unused money we had in our account, from fun ship dollars I had purchased, was refunded at the end of our cruise. cruizinisthebest Posted October 6, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2013 Cruise Cash can only be used on the cruise you're booked. It's both non-transferable and non-refundable. Any unused portion is forfeited. You can cash out your s&s card in the casino from what I understand, but there is a small process to it. Someone that has done can explain it. If you use the search forum, there's lot of information regarding the cruise cash program itself. You may also want to consider carnival gift cards, which have a little more flexibility but require a visit to the guest services desk; whereas cruise cash doesn't. If you never sail on that cruise do to canceling can you transfer to a future cruise. I understand you can't transfer unused portion
Isa65 Posted October 6, 2013 #6 Share Posted October 6, 2013 I had bought cruise cash for a sailing (yesterday) and I needed to cancel my reservation. I forgot to cancel the cruise cash, but within 3 days the amount was refunded to my credit card.

I understand you can't transfer unused portion According to the rules, no. Although I have a hard time with Carnival saying too bad, so sad if you need to cancel and wind up losing alot of cruise cash. But of course that would come down to someone having mercy on you since the rules are clear on use or lose. I went through this earlier in the week and decided just to roll with the gift cards. Yes it's a trip to guest services but at least if I have to wind up cancelling I can use them on another cruise. Never know what may come up. http://carnivalgiftcards.com/

We did it on the Fantasy in February & plan on doing it again on the Freedom in January. Very easy ordering process & they come by mail in a couple days.
