jims231 Posted January 23, 2014 #51 Share Posted January 23, 2014 I sailed on Glory for my first ever cruise in September. They had guy's and fish and chips! A little disappointed my upcoming cruise on the Pride doesn't have either one:(:( Sent from my SCH-i705 using Forums mobile app Does anyone know if they have Guys burgers on the Magic? We will be sailing in September 2014. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
jiggs Posted January 23, 2014 #52 Share Posted January 23, 2014 Could be that the casino staff aren't quite as free with the lanyards as they used to be because they know people will put them for sale on ebay when they get back home. Check it out. Someone has posted two lanyards for $6.95, but they were given out free on the ship! I'm all for free enterprise, but that's ridiculous. anyone who would pay anything for that is nuts. probably costs carnival a dime. bougiet Posted January 23, 2014 #53 Share Posted January 23, 2014 I like to take showers in the spa. They are sooo much bigger than in your stateroom and some ships have mutliple shower heads. I would order a BLT everynight before bed time :) and they were always delish.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 No the Magic does not have Guys burgers. IDK when it dry docks but wouldn't be surprised if it goes in when it does. Tommy J Posted January 23, 2014 #57 Share Posted January 23, 2014 No Guy's burger on the Magic. I will be getting my first Guy's burger on Feb. 1 on the Triumph. After reading this thread I will also bring my jar of carnation malted milk. Guys and double malt.

mephistoles Posted January 23, 2014 #59 Share Posted January 23, 2014 Ive found the cruise lanyard a bit harder to come by now. On the breeze in November, you had to be at a machine or had to show proof that you were playing in the casino. They swiped the cards to check. This was the first time I had experienced this. I also got playing cards at the Guest Services Platinum window in November. I was told in April on the Slendor that I had to pay for then now. Can anybody weigh in on these past tips. I had the same thing happen to me last year on our Breeze cruise. I went to the casino to get a lanyard for our son and they told me that I had to be at a machine and playing in order to get one. My mom and I had got them for free on our Liberty cruise. Anyway OP thanks for starting this new thread. I agree with the others that the other thread has so many pages and can use some updating. I will definitely take advantage of tea time on our upcoming cruise.

Yep before our first cruise I ordered 2 off ebay..didn't know they were free but we still have them and will use them next month. I ordered them because I figured if I was going wear one it might as well match the ship..lol I paid 3.95 w/free shipping...lol...but I'd have paid that much to go out and buy some so I guess it's OK. I have the little plastic pouches that I hook on them and put my S&S card and copy of passport in and a little cash. Jeafl Posted January 24, 2014 #61 Share Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) Subscribing for all the new tips! Not really a secret, but more of a tip. Bring a small battery-operated clock since the rooms don't have clocks, and there is usually only one outlet. I'm a fan of the cesar salad onboard. You get that from room service along with some of those yummy cookies. Someone onboard told us to request they serve them warm wrapped in a napkin. Gonna try it next time.
justme_85 Posted January 24, 2014 #63 Share Posted January 24, 2014 Subscribed! I am loving these tips. Rare Dianejo Posted January 24, 2014 #64 Share Posted January 24, 2014 On my last Carnival cruise (2012), we bought "classic drinks" from the bar... a waitress told us to take the receipt to the Casino cashier to get $5 match play certificates. We did this and used the match plays on our last night to play blackjack for hours. Is this tip still valid?

afcruiser Posted January 24, 2014 #66 Share Posted January 24, 2014 Our last cruise we we're at Guest Services. I mentioned to my DH that I need to get a Carnival Pen because nobody at my work will take, Cuz they know it's mine. The guy behind the desk gave me 3 brand new ones still in the wrapper. Use em everyday at work. Counting down the days till we board again.

candigirl Posted January 24, 2014 #70 Share Posted January 24, 2014 I cruised recently and can confirm a few items. *The match play was available from all of the bars I visited. So I can definitely confirm pool bar and Candlelight lounge (Inspiration) where the comedians performed, so I have to think all bars. *They want to see you playing before they will give you the Casino lanyard....bring your own....not a fan of that ugly thing. *The best Caesar salad is from the 24 hr pizza station, you can even ask for chicken on it. They will put it together however you want it...extra dressing or croutons. *The cheese plate is available as a dessert in the main dining room. Ask for it to go and they will wrap it up for you. Works great in a room with a fridge to enjoy on the balcony the next day. *Pens are still free. I asked for cards in the Platinum line, no problem, no charge. Some kids were asking in the regular line and I think they needed there S&S card to charge (which they apparently did not have with them). Kids were sad, so I asked for a 2nd deck and gave one to the kids. The staff smiled and were OK with that...remember they used to be free to all. So glad to see this new thread! GROUCHPUSS Posted January 24, 2014 #71 Share Posted January 24, 2014 I cruised recently and can confirm a few items. *The best Caesar salad is from the 24 hr pizza station, you can even ask for chicken on it. They will put it together however you want it...extra dressing or croutons. I think you can only get the salads still if the ship is serving the old pizza. The ships serving the new pizza have eliminated the salads, garlic bread and calzones.

christinalvt Posted January 24, 2014 #75 Share Posted January 24, 2014 For those who like to make coffee and ice cream or shakes, don't forget to bring your own travel mug so you have something to carry around (on and off the ship) with a lid, and big enough for a decent sized drink. Try the food station above the main buffet area, Fish & Chips on some ships, on the Splendor its the Rotisserie. Always lots of seating! Trivia buffs! Try the call-in Morning Show that you can watch on your TV and call in the answers to win prizes! Happy Sailing!!
