Eiansmomma Posted November 8, 2013 #126 Share Posted November 8, 2013 Correct. Then there is some other bridge around the Norfolk area and there is an underwater tunnel. I don't remember the name of that bridge. We crossed that around 1 AM, I believe. The one near Norfolk is the Chesapeake bay bridge tunnel. funinthesun1964 Posted November 8, 2013 Author #127 Share Posted November 8, 2013 After the fun we had at that party, we decided to go out to Lido. DH likes the bean bag toss, and we knew that there would probably be other fun things going on there. Oh, and Paul, an activity director on the ship (pictured below in red), also known as "happy feet", was also on the Liberty when we sailed in February. It was nice to see a familiar face from another ship. Debi and Ted were in the hot tub already:
funinthesun1964 Posted November 8, 2013 Author #128 Share Posted November 8, 2013 (edited) DH always came in 2nd place - 1st loser, lol. Darn, was hoping for a ship on a stick. Susan and Cheri: Edited November 8, 2013 by funinthesun1964

funinthesun1964 Posted November 8, 2013 Author #131 Share Posted November 8, 2013 Dancing started and it was crazy! Cheri was all ready to go up on stage: I just let everyone else dance while I sat on my butt taking some pictures:

funinthesun1964 Posted November 8, 2013 Author #133 Share Posted November 8, 2013 Well, tonight was the formal night, we decided to meet with the two other couples from our roll call. We met and got a beeper for the dining room. Since there were 6 of us, and we did not arrive until 7, we had a wait. They told us it would be about 30 minutes, so we all sat and talked. Here it was an hour wait. I really didn't notice, since we were busy talking. Cheri danced with a waiter after dinner: After dinner, we went back to the cabin to change our clothes. This was waiting for us in our cabin: They were sweet treats! Also, the towel animal was there and our Behind The Fun Tour tickets Also, our invites for the Gold & Up past guest party (we are gold). I always make fun of the invite because it says "don't wait up" and the party is over at 5:15 pm! Isn't that dumb?
funinthesun1964 Posted November 8, 2013 Author #134 Share Posted November 8, 2013 We popped into a comedy show that night and saw Jim McCue. We immediately recognized him from another ship. He was just "OK". We didn't have pizza or late night snacks tonight, and we were in bed by 11:30. Sometimes I just can't stay awake any longer :o It had been another fun day. Tomorrow morning I will scan Fun Times and review second sea day (Tuesday). :)

funinthesun1964 Posted November 8, 2013 Author #137 Share Posted November 8, 2013 When we woke up, we thought it was a good idea to get dressed and head to the gym again. But you know, I have to have my coffee so it's the Lido deck first. I guess DH wanted some "quick energy" Lido deck still quiet at this point. It's early yet though. Give it another hour or so. We decide that instead of going to the gym, we would enjoy the nice weather and just walk several times around Deck 10. I take the opportunity to snap a couple more photos. Serenity Deck Jacuzzi We then eat breakfast in Lido. Guess what? DH said bacon police were not there. He helped himself. Still not busy (yet)
funinthesun1964 Posted November 8, 2013 Author #138 Share Posted November 8, 2013 After our breakfast, we decided that we would like to head out to the serenity deck to enjoy a day at sea. We weren't there too long, though, because some members of our roll call showed up also and reminded us that there was a group slot pull scheduled for 11 am. So we headed to the casino. We had a nice size group there; we found a dollar machine. Each person donated $15 cash and tried their luck. Of course, I had none! After every person had completed their turn, we could have ended up with a couple of bucks each - but the popular vote was just to bet that and we picked one person who we thought was luckiest to try it. We end up with nothing - but we did have fun and nice seeing a big group of us from the roll call together again. The guy on the left is the one who organized the slot pull for us. I thought we were in a non-smoking section? Doesn't matter, as the casino is smoky anyway! Sandy trying her luck! Look at the smoking lady in this picture, lol
funinthesun1964 Posted November 8, 2013 Author #139 Share Posted November 8, 2013 Go for it! Bob's turn Go ahead and push the button, Bo! My turn Maybe if I rub the machine, I will have good luck. Either that, or pick up some new germs! HA
funinthesun1964 Posted November 8, 2013 Author #140 Share Posted November 8, 2013 We headed back to serenity a while, then pack up and go inside. We attempted to find the guy at the future cruise desk, but he is not there at that time. We wanted to book our cruise for February. Oh well, we could try later. We head back the cabin to get our showers and then go to the VIFP party at 4:30 in the butterflies lounge. We meet up with people from our roll call there. funinthesun1964 Posted November 8, 2013 Author #141 Share Posted November 8, 2013 Well we had plenty of drinks. No shortage there. The appetizer foods were different on this cruise than before. I didn't really care for them. I declined after the first two attempts at tasting.
funinthesun1964 Posted November 8, 2013 Author #142 Share Posted November 8, 2013 Well, it is easy to lose your balance on a ship. Sit on the edge of a piece of furniture and off you go! funinthesun1964 Posted November 8, 2013 Author #144 Share Posted November 8, 2013 What are these and why are they sorry!:eek: Oh, they were sorry because we were told a 30 minute wait for dinner and it ended up being an hour. So, they were sorry for the wait at dinner. I do not know exactly what you call these - but they were sweet. The things on the left were similar to a chocolate, and the left - kind of like a granola bar, but sweeter. Nuts on the top. We only ate two pieces of this. I think we had enough food on the cruise, without having goodies. It would have been better if we would have received a coupon for a free drink!! :D

funinthesun1964 Posted November 8, 2013 Author #147 Share Posted November 8, 2013 (edited) Went to dinner that evening, we went with another couple from our roll call. No pictures here. After dinner, we went to a show called "Soul, Sass & Brass" with Nicole Sasser. The woman is a talented trumpet player, but the show was not what I expected at all. She told about herself between songs. I was surprised to how empty the theater was  Definitely seemed low-budget. But, I did enjoy as I played trumpet myself in my younger days. Stopped back at the cabin Fun times for next day (Port Canaveral) was there as well: I think we headed out to the casino for a while at this point, didn't stay up past 11:30 again. We normally go to bed early at home, so it's hard to get out of that habit. Will post Wednesday's Fun Times and review later tonight or tomorrow morning. Delta Dear Posted November 9, 2013 #149 Share Posted November 9, 2013 Since we're not sailing on the Pride until Nov.30.2014, I haven't really started reading reviews yet, BUT, I did start this one. I'm glad I did because I am enjoying it AND you posted the photos of the Best Western where we stayed last year when we flew to Belize for a week. I couldn't remember the name at all. We live in Delaware and could easily just drive to the port, but we'll do a park and cruise hotel again, too. The other reason I"m enjoying your review is that Cleveland is home. I am a loyal Browns fan, so seeing your hubby's Browns shirt made me happy. I also love Chocolate Mocha Getaways ! YUMMY ! Looking forward to the rest of the review. Love the Spirit class ships.
