pablo222 Posted November 18, 2013 #26 Share Posted November 18, 2013 We are doing last minute booking just 3 weeks out on Emerald. We are experienced cruisers who strongly prefer early dining table for two. Due to postings on this forum we are concerned about long waits for table for two under Anytime dining, yet assume that as last minute bookers we would have trouble getting a table for two under traditional early dining. The best way is for the maitre d' to remember you from a previous cruise, in such a way that he offers the accomodation. Second best is to book a suite. pusywillow Posted November 18, 2013 #27 Share Posted November 18, 2013 I also like a table for two. Too bad more can't be added in the dining room.
paul929207 Posted November 18, 2013 #28 Share Posted November 18, 2013 It is a matter of space. 4 tables for two take up more room than one table for eight.
Astro Flyer Posted November 18, 2013 #29 Share Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) I also like a table for two. Too bad more can't be added in the dining room. The Royal appeared to have more tables for 2 than on other Princess ships we've sailed. They had several sections where one person sat on a seat like in a booth. The other person sat on a chair & because one person has to access their seat between tables there was more room than on other tables for 2 we've sat at in the MDR. 4x4bob Posted November 20, 2013 #30 Share Posted November 20, 2013 We love a table for 2 because of the quick service. And, we have scored several times when we requested one. However......They normally are one one side of the dinning room set up in group of 2 or 3. And, they are so close together that all of us had to sit with our heads almost touching so we would not be sharing our conversation with the other table.
