Advice about Porto Belo, Brazil

Hello. We are cruising from Rio to Buenos Aires with stops in Buzios, Ilha Grande, Santos, Porto Belo and Rio Grande, Brazil, and Punta del Este and Montevideo, Uruguay.

 

I can't seem to find much tourist information, reviews or advice about Porto Belo.

 

Would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations from those who have been to Porto Belo, or any of these ports, before. Can any of these ports be done independently? Or should we join a tour? Thanks!

These Brazilian stops are all pretty much beach towns.

I believe the cruise lines offer tours from Porto Belo to the "German" town of Blumenau and to Florianopolis, if the beach in Porto Belo is not what you wish.

I seem to remember this same itinerary being described for another poster here on CC not long ago.
