Celebrity Summit Another excellent Celebrity cruise despite a rough start by Phxazzcruisers

Boarding in Bayone was difficult as the previous cruise had a bad Noro outbreak and they had to totally clean the ship before they could allow guests to their staterooms. We were finally allowed in our rooms around 6:00 and had the muster drill before dinner. The buffet was wrapped in plastic for the first 7 days of the cruise which made serving lunch difficult as it was no longer self service. You were not able to get coffee, water, etc yourself, but had to wait in line to have a staff member serve you. There were no salt and pepper shakers on the tables until the last two days of the cruise, you had to request packets. The library was closed until the last two days of the cruise also. All that being said, we were very happy that they took the precautions that they did as it kept the ship Noro free and allowed everyone to have a happy healthy cruise. Continue reading... Navigator of the Seas A second Cruise of a Lifetime by sprint213

I say second "Cruise of a Lifetime" because this is our second trip to The Mediterranean! Our first was our 25th Anniversary Cruise just two years ago. Who knew we would be returning so soon. (We did throw a coin in Trevi Fountain!) This trip was with my brother and sister in law and since we had been before we were nominated as trip planner. I made all the reservations direct through various sites on the internet - Flight, hotel, cruise, tours, etc. Of course Crusie Critic was my Number One source of information. We flew to Rome via Atlanta two days early to enjoy a little more sightseeing. Good thing as Delta had computer problems and all regional jets were grounded Thursday mid-day and we missed our connection to Rome by about 15 minutes. Delta agents were helpful and the four of us were put on a later flight that stopped briefly in Paris. We got to add another city to our "bucket list of places to visit". I had arraigned a private transfer with "Rome Airport Transportation" and was not sure they received my notice about the delayed flight but once we cleared customs there they were with our name on a sign. What a welcome relief! The trip from the airport to our hotel was uneventful but we did get to see some sights on the way. Continue reading... A second Cruise of a Lifetime

Norwegian Jewel First and last Panama Canal cruise on Norwegian Jewel by chevytrkr

We arrived at our hotel in San Pedro the night before our cruise departed. The Crowne Plaza was very nice and conveniently located near some very good seafood restaurants near the harbor. The next morning, the hotel shuttle transported us to the cruise terminal about a mile or two away. Embarkation was as expected, a long delay followed by a rush to line up for boarding. Several groups of "Special Event" cruisers were allowed to board ahead of everyone else who had been waiting a long time to board. I think NCL should not allow this. Board by your boarding number and don't give special treatment to large groups. Boarding went okay and we were finally in our balcony cabin on Deck 9. We went to the buffet for some lunch and then went topside for the sailaway. Leaving San Pedro harbor was beautiful with the gorgeous sunset. Continue reading... Carnival Conquest An October vacation by HO HO

Conquest - 20-27 Oct 2013 Embarkation day: We drove down to Slidell the afternoon before embarkation, feasted on softshell crab, crawfish, and shrimp, got a goodnight's sleep, had breakfast at the hotel, made a last minute trip to Walmart, and headed for New Orleans and the Erato St. terminal, where the Conquest was docked. We arrived at the terminal just after 10 AM, and got in line with all the other cruisers who also had arrived early. After paying the parking fee, we drove up the ramp to the luggage drop off area. Dominick met us, gave us his name and porter #, and took our bags. (A note of caution here: even though he viewed our boarding passes, and assured us he would put the priority stickers on our bags, he didn't, and our bags weren't delivered until after the safety drill. In fact our room steward delivered the final bag around 5:00 PM!) After dropping our bags, we proceeded to the 4th floor parking area and were very fortunate to find a spot right next to the elevator! Continue reading... An October vacation

Caribbean Princess Caribbean Princess New England and Canada Cruise by Aprilu

If you are familiar with Princess ships, they are all the same layout, which makes one feel right at home when you board. This cruise left from the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal where there is long term parking available. We drove to the terminal without incident and parked in the long term parking. This is open air parking and there seemed to be plenty of spaces to accommodate those who drive. The cruise ship docks within in sight of the parking. Parking cost us about $140 for a 7 day cruise. Entertainment: This cruise had the best entertainment we have seen in awhile. Continue reading... Caribbean Princess New England and Canada Cruise
